2nd Z10, 2nd SD card, still having this problem with the phone scrambling my pics. Had a great photo of my daughter's dance recital group now it's completely destroyed

Anyone having this issue on the Z10?-swagger-jagger.jpg

I haven't seen this issue. That doesn't mean no one else has.

Does this occur with every picture?
Does the same thing happen to photos taken and saved on the device instead of an SD card? Remove the SD card and shoot some pics.
Have you tried other camera settings to see if it makes a difference?

The only camera problem I have had was no sound on a video, which a reboot fixed. However it was my daughter's second birthday party so it was disappointing.

I've seen this issue before from corrupt and knock off SD cards in other devices. Did you format card in z10?

Picture can be easily fixed in a photo app with some time.

So i was thinking that you should open up your camera app, swipe down and click on Settings. What is chosen for your 'save on media card' option? Try toggling it back and forth and run some test shots to see if you are able to replicate the problem while saving on the SD card and while saving on the Z10 internal memory.

I did format the card and I have a SanDisk class 4 card. This is a new SD card because I was having the same issue with the previous card. AT&T then gave me another Z10 but still having the issue. I'm hoping 10.1 fixes this

BBPandy, you are awesome! You stepped in and helped someone with a problem in a way that was probably very unexpected. The CrackBerry Nation benefits from the kindness that you have shown.

I have heard that cards lower than class 10 can cause problems. Can you borrow a class 10 card from someone to test it out?

I could see this .. no problems with my Sandisk Class 10 SD card (recommended by Crackberry) from Amazon. And many of my buddies with z10's/q10's have them without issue.

I agree. Try a class 10 if you can and it might help isolate the prob.
    Good luck!

Odd problem, I ran a Lexar 16 GB class 4 card in my Z10 for a few months before upgrading to a Lexar 16GB Class 10 and have not had a problem with pictures distorting on either card. I also have run a number of leaked OS's as well as official ones (currently running 10..0.228)

    BBPandy, you're the man.
I'm using a 32BG SanDisk from my old Bold 9900 (http://forums.crackberry.com/showthread.php?t=754680) and haven't had such problem. I didn't reformat it either. I used File Manager to rearrange my files to fit with the placement scheme of BB10.

This is typical for a hardware fault. Could be camera, phone internal storage or SD card depending where it is set to store images. Flip storage between memory or SD and see where the fault goes. If you're saving to SD also try reading the card in a USB reade direct to pc.
