Ok I am hearing a lot of rumours about a lot of device but no sliders. the bb torch 9800 was the best bb I ever had and would love to see a slider on BB10 can some give me some good news as it relates to a BB10 slider. There was talk about the M series but its as if this has gone cold. I need any information that you guys have when it comes to the BB10 slider.

This is what you're going to get from most that consider the Slider on the same level as the Curve....and I disagree: Related to the Slider
Personally, I think we need a Slider.

If it's profitable, I don't see why not. I can assure you they've considered it already . If it's in their future plans is still a mystery.

I also love my 9800, will definitely change for a A series if that device is released, but if a slider is released with a large screen and a Q10 quality keyboard, I'd be seriously tempted.

That is so true specs will not matter that much if I get a BB10 slider

A slider is the only way to go. I've had a 9800 since they first came out and it's the best of both worlds - all the screen space you need and a keyboard... What more could you ask for?

The only other option I could see is a bigger non-slider phone that is essentially equivalent in size to a slider in the "open" position. You would make it a little wider to keep the proportions correct, but that would work as well.

    I would love a slider.

Give me the screen real estate of the Z10 though. No less.

Yes , at first I thought it would be too big but really the bulk is in your hand and the screen is very thin that slides forward. I would Q style it. The Z style is not distinctive IMO. Would it sell - Yes.

What ever BB does I hope they fix the browser to include text reflow... I have tried the Z or Q many times but I can't buy BB as it is.

I had a 9800 until I washed it with some other laundry - no fingerprints on the screen for sure - but nothing else either. I used that to move to the 9810 (a little faster CPU, a little newer OS). Both 98xx's were my very favourite phones that I've ever worked with.

I am on a Z10 now as it was the best compromise for that great screen real estate - but I would happily plop that onto Craigslist and move to a new slider if it combined the Z10 screen with Q10 keyboard. In less than a heartbeat.

Definitely interested in the a slider myself, as long as it's sleek, thin! Only time will tell what Blackberry has planned for future devices. One thing is for certain, it was a definitely a money making form factor for them, you still see the 9800's everywhere, so I can't imagine it isn't somewhere on their radar.

Seem like completely the wrong thread for this, but have you tried using reader mode in the browser?

Yes you are right ... wrong thread ... I will not do it again. No, the reader mode does not work on all sites. The BB10 browser does not meet my needs.

Can you give me an example of a site reader mode doesn't work on?

Thanks for your query. It caused me to look harder at this issue. We have an Iphone (has reader mode) and a 9900 that does not. With both of these phones I can rely on a double tap to get font large enough to read without having to enter into the article in question and invoking reader mode. That is not to say reader mode is bad , I would rather be able to easily read the article on the basis of a "double tap". While the Iphone is not as good as the Androids in this regard , usually a double tap is sufficient. The same article double tapped on a Z10 may still have a font that is too small to read.

In other words, I think it is better when a browser can be easily used without having to use "reader mode".

Something similar to the BlackBerry Blade Concept for look is perfect. Yes no track or physical front keys on the screen like the Blade has but a sleek looking phone like that would sell. Everyone I have shown it to loves it.

Hmmmm bet that phone has a battery that lasts only 1 hour. Way too thin to have a decent battery. Cool design though.

BlackBerry for life. Kick'n it with my Z10.

Yes they need even more phones that are overpriced with yet another resolution size.

All the need was 3 but they'll flood the market with overpriced underperforming phones instead.
