This is a concept I was thinking might be a nice update for BB10. I got the idea for which icons to include from @digitalhomeboy I'm also really digging Olivier Massain's concept as well - Dribbble - full_BB10_control_center_olivier-massain.png by Olivier Massain

What do you guys think? Also, you can leave more ideas for BB10 concepts to come to life here -> BlackBerry 10 Update Concept

    Homescreen Bottom Bar Concept

For this concept the idea is for the bottom bar icons to be user customizable. Simply tap and hold any application icon, once the icon is pulsing drag and drop it into the desired spot on the bottom bar.

    Homescreen Quick Settings

This is how the user would be able to customize the shortcuts that appear on the Homescreen Quick Settings. Simply tap and hold then move the shortcut to whatever place desired. You would also be able to choose what shortcuts appear on the dropdown Quick Settings by checking or un-checking the box next to the shortcut.

    Homescreen Icons

The idea for this concept is simple yet one of the most wanted by users. I understand that BlackBerry wants the homescreen to be different with the background on the icons, but giving more options is always good. So having the ability to lower the opacity of the background all the way down to 0% would be perfect! Check out the concept in action below!

    Homescreen Folders
The idea for this concept is also simple. As of now the folders created on the homescreen that hold applications can only hold 16 apps. With this concept all you need to do is add more apps to the folder and it creates a second page of apps giving you easy access and a better way of organization.

Thanks! that's true, but I really like the icons, music controls, and screen brightness you made for yours. Although mine wouldn't look too Control Center iOS-ish

Yes very nice. A few suggestions:
    -add a mobile network toggle
-maintain the ability to toggle on/off the connections AS WELL as the ability to jump into the settings for that connection (like it functions now)

    I have something else:

What if it was two tiered, meaning you would pull halfway and have the current functionality that exists today. Pull down the full screen and get NFC control, Airplane Mode, Audio Player, etc.

Might have to add a new page with icons

And @kidshah that function would still be there with this iteration

    Me too.

I actually think they should borrow from Meego/harmattan UI hack and just allow people to add icons to perform various functionality.

Though at the very least they should add brightness and volume sliders.... I don't want to use hardware buttons!

That is GREAT. This ought to be in 10.2.

I also would like to be able to get straight into settings with a long press on an item.

Sorry to hijack, but i think sliding of app pages should be changed too, its too ios... It should give a spinning of 180 rotation animation when getting to another app page. Try and imagine.

Love this design, it's so functional.

What are people's thoughts on moving the icons closer to one another so you could fit one more icon in each row? It is nice having that space for people with big thumbs but sometimes I feel like there's just too much space and it could be utilized better. So have the icons touching in each row or have a slight space but not much and there should be enough room for one more icon in each row. This way there would be 4 icons per row and should allow us to have every quick setting and option on the phone since two pages would give us 16 icons.

Possible shortcuts for the 16 icon slots would be:

    1) Settings
    2) Wi-Fi
    3) Notifications
    4) Bluetooth
    5) Alarm
    6) Rotation Lock
    7) Display/Screen Brightness
    8) NFC
    9) Airplane Mode
    10) Cellular Connection On/Off
    11) Mobile Hotspot
    12) Internet Tethering
    13) GPS
    14) Bridge
    15) Protect
    16) VPN

The final trick would be allowing people to choose what shortcuts display and in whatever order they want.

I really like how this still gives us the toggle on/off by clicking the icon and going deeper into the settings by clicking on the word. Really hope someone at BlackBerry picks this up and adds it to a future update.
