I think BlackBerry are missing a trick by not allowing more customisation as this could set them apart as having a flexible OS. For example the settings area that you drag down has icons that I never use, I would like to have a different wallpaper for my lockscreen and home screen etc, I understand android allows a lot of customisation but I am not interested in that as I feel happier with the BlackBerry OS in general. I think things like this would be very simple to implement with no impact to performance as would giving users the choice for things such as battery % in the status bar.

I am purely meaning user customisations which are just visual or actually just provide shortcuts, not a whole carrier skin.

Yeah you can change the wallpaper but you can't have separate wallpapers for the lockscreen without a workaround and you can't have a blank home screen. You are also limited to 16 apps in a folder, all little things that would be very easy to address and would be quick wins.
