Can you give us an idea how 'fast' is 'fast'?

Like right now it's at 39% and I barely used it, it's 11:43am

Have you got anything in the background? Not just active frames, but the native Twitter app., for example? I got rid of that as it drained my battery from 100% to 45% in 3 hours with little use.

It's not open as a widget? So no it wouldn't be open

Are you on an LTE network? It drains battery pretty quickly especially if you have poor reception.

Yup, that seems to be the biggest drain.

Screen brightness as well. You can try turning it down.

There are a lot of other topics in the forums which have lots of different tips on saving battery life.

If you have the eBay app installed, then that is the reason why your battery is being depleted. Log out of ebay and delete it. It's buggy as hell.

I usually only get something like 10 hours out of a battery. Today I am at almost at 16 hours and some percent are still left. I did nothing but have re-set up an IMAP email account. Could it be possible that a mail account drained my battery?!?

No I have Skype. It doesn't drain battery when it's not an active frame.

Try going into your settings and turn off blackberry link. Once I did that I had no problems.

This also happens to be my number 1 complaint with the Z10. To be clear:
    1) Battery life
    2) App support
I've done absolutely everything, turned off 4G, NFC, keep bluetooth and wifi off when not using them, brightness is about 45%, always close active frames, etc and I'm usually lucky to have 25% after 12 hours, usually more like 10-15%. The battery indicator itself is not precise enough, you could really use a little counter next to the battery symbol. I'm constantly left thinking is that 45, 40, 35%?? I can't tell. Have to keep going into the settings menu. Also, usually once a day, the phone gets really hot and the battery starts to drain rapidly, I have to restart to stop it.

Secondly, the app support is a real pain in the ***....developer support has to be top priority for BB. Issues like what everyone has been suggesting above "close down ebay and delete" just shouldn't be happening. Many people happen to rely on their smartphone for ebay purchases or sales. If you lose access to a core group of apps you've come to rely on, what value does that handset represent to you? Sweet FA is what.

I love the Z10 as a device, but I didn't buy it to make my pocket look better, operation and usability are very important, but the ability to do the things you need/want to do are just as important, without them, it's just a pretty web browser and phone...(maybe a bit more then that but you get my meaning)

Yes LTE Is a major power drainer.
Also check that the BlackBerry Diagnostics is shut off (Settings > Security and Privacy > Diagnostics)
Is your swipe enabled? (Settings > Display > Allow gestures when locked) shut this off... it allows you to swipe up to wake up the phone.

Me too. I have shut everyyyyyything off. The only thing about it that hasnt been done is changing it to 2G, but that practically diminished the purpose of having a smart phone. Got around 5 hours per battery.
I think that BlackBerry should address this issue.

Eight hours with BT on is about all I would expect. We tend to forget this is a 4.2" LCD screen, this is NOT our previous devices. Buy a spare battery and enjoy the device.

Battery life - always the issue.

Whilst I agree that turning this off, not using that app. , lowering the brightness etc etc... all help, it is a shame that the battery seems so poor for all but low to moderate usage. I use my phone plenty, and have taken to carrying 2 spares, so I can be sure that I'll always be OK for juice if away for a while and not near a charger.

Having said that, my wife's iPhone tends to last 30/40% longer than my Z10, but, when it dies, it dies. Even if I'm halfway thru battery 2, I'm still snapping, sat navving, texting, gaming - she's not.

    You used HOW much lube?

Battery is very poor for z10. Have to keep data services off whenever i put down the phone. Have to reduce brightness and log off skype. Even after all these, my battery dies at 2pm. Except the battery z10 is top class smartphone

    Wow Gatotlie and gsvc,
Yes you guys have something enabled on your phone that is draining your Z10 battery...
I can use my phone quite a bit and I still get roughly 20 hours before I charge my phone again.
This snap shot, I didn't use my phone much this day, but you see the picture.

All this and I have my brightness at 90%,3G enabled (LTE eats up my battery life) and battery Guru on and I used maps and checking emails, sending out Whatsapp messages part of the day.
