There's Apple innovation again. Will they ever slow down? WOW. At this pace, BB will never catch up.

android has had the slide from the button to unlock for quite some time, even before BB10...this concept is nothing new at all

I can hear it now. OMG this swipe up to unlock is so much more intuitive than the left to right way! My thumb feels much better now. Thanks Apple! Lol. No seriously this is dumb.

I've been watching the whole thing and laughing at how people just eat their s*!t up. For iOS7: Notifications from lock screen, slide to unlcok, compass, UI design, swipe gestures, multitasking cards etc....... Apple is biting BB10 like a mo-fo!

    This.

Also, it's not slide to unlock, it's slide to access the control center.

WP7 had it as well - so BB was third and Apple was fourth.

I think we're forgetting that with BB10 its slide to wake and unlock. With Android, ya always have to press the button to wake it up first before you slide to unlock! Needless to say my second phone is an S3 which gets adequately slided upon many times daily to no avail!

I noticed the WebOS/Playbook style cards similarities, even the "tossing" to close app function.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the PlayBook OS the first on to implement the swipe to unlock/wake feature?

Thank you! Everyone seems to be forgetting about the "Wake" part! If apple is still using the button to wake, they haven't done anything different but just changed the direction used to unlock the phone from left - right, to down - up. Is iOS7 swipe to wake and unlock?

Not sure, I'm assuming you'd have to press a button to wake it first.

It's not necessarily literal, but the naughty implementations of certain functions/gestures. It doesn't have to be exact, some are just too similar.

Wow, I just watch video of the iphone multitasking, was that taking a page from the Play-Book sorry WebOS and I am really mad at BlackBerry for not building this into the Z and Q10. I am SO mad. Now on the iphone it will be call "New Tech" to be truly able to multitask. Sad day for my BB... My F-in $0.02.

Well, once it's released we'll know for sure. If its a combo wake/unlock like BB10 then its a complete rip. Also factoring the swiping up from bottom bezel, plus the webos/playbook style cards/multi-tasking and swiping up to dismiss, I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Not quite, that "peek" gesture has been on the iPad since 2011.

Fortunately the slide to unlock is not like the BB10. It is like ios6 and you slide sideways to unlock. You still have to press the button to unlock the screen.
