I have the strangest issue pop up on me last week and haven't been able to resolve it since. I usually never have problems with my BBM but for some reason I cannot send a BBM to one of my BBM contacts. He can send me msgs and I receive fine, but cannot send. I can PIN him just fine. I can BBM Voice him just fine but every time I go to BBM him, I get a red X.

I have resorted to whatsapp now.

That's odd. Did you try deleting and then re-adding him as a contact?

oh yes sorry, forgot to include what I already tried

1. hard reset (holding lock button for like 30s)
2. battery pull
3. removed and re-added contact
4. tried on WiFI
5. tried on 4G

Did he maybe block you by accident. Given that you can still bbm video that's unlikely but worth a shot.

Maybe the problem is not with your device. Maybe it's his device. Usually if you bbm someone and the red cross appears, the person's device is not connected to the network.

You should ask him to check hos device also and probably you both can update or reinstall your OS.

He's connected fine because he can BBM everyone. I just can't BBM him but I can BBM everyone else!

Just an update for anyone having this issue, I found no solution.

I had to wipe and install a new OS (which I was doing anyway) so wasn't a big deal to me. New LEAKS!!

Try reinstalling the bbm bar instead of wiping the phone if it ever comes to that.
