Annoying issue - every time I send a text it takes about 5-6 seconds for it to appear in the text thread. Tried a batt pull. Even put a leaked OS replacing the out of box on - no success. Any suggestions?

Also, during a restore, once it says complete and I disconnect the USB cable, it still takes another 10-15 minutes for everything to populate on the phone, ie. contacts. Is this correct behavior?

I have this problem too (except around 3 seconds)!! Did you transfer your old text messages to your q10

Yea I did. From my legacy restore file(9930). It still persisted and I backed up from the Q itself. Factory reset and restore from Q backup and same result. Went to leaked OS...same thing.

That is weird then, I thought the problem was because I transferred my old text messages from my legacy device to z10.

Does anyone else also have problems with scrolling through old text messages as well. Like if you scroll too fast the screen just goes blank and it takes a while for it to load

What apps, if any, do you have installed?

had to order a replacement (spacebar issue as reported on the forums) and got it up and running this morning in the early am. loaded up all my apps (not many but does included some sideloading of andriod) and once again i have a delay in sending text messages! This must be caused from an installed app, no? I cannot figure this out for the life of me.

If ANYONE has a solution please help me out on this one.

I had this issue on my Z10 but the Q10 is very fast no problem here at all. You might want to call tech support at Verizon.

Did you import old text messages too?

Yeah I was just about to ask everyone to report whether or not they restored a file or were using the device out-of-the-box. Out-of-the-box people seem not to be having any issues, so if that's the case I'd track down the issue to being relating to something in that process.

I did restore old text messages from my 9930. I'm reluctant to factory reset and do this whole thing over again. Is it possible for anyone to confirm that it is from restoring old text messages from OS7.1?

Just got off the phone with Verizon Tech Support. Had me turn the phone off (said she was going to send something to the phone/reset blah blah blah). Powered up and....same thing. She did however mention to me that Verizon and BlackBerry are indeed aware of the issue (not sure is she was just blowing smoke up my a**) and they are working a fix.

I bet we find it before them....I'll keep this thread up-to-date as much as possible. Thanks guys. Keep the ideas flowing on this one.

Yep, although mine is only a 3 second delay, it's still a delay.

Let's hope that 10.2 fixes the issue. I do not think there is any solution to this issue at the present time. If there was, my guess is that it would have surfaced on the forums by now.

Hopefully, I've been complaining about this issue since February and still no fix haha

I deleted all of my previous text messages that got loaded onto my q10 from my 9930 and that fixed everything instantly.

Seems like there is a reason that the new BB10s will only let you keep messages for 30 days rather than forever like on the old devices. The phone really slows down when it has a bunch of messages on it.

    Hope this helps.

wow, interesting. I had no idea about this new "30 day rule." it almost feels like BB10 has more restrictions than freedoms - so to speak.

I guess I have no use for messages that range from 2009 - but for some reason I like knowing that they are in fact there. "Better have and not need than need and not have," yup that pretty much sums it up.

Will start the deletion process and report back. Thanks for keeping this one relevant, guys.

I'm pretty sure text messages stay on your phone forever, the 30 day limit only applied to emails on 10.0 as far as I know

So the verdict is in and here is the solution that worked for me. Sure enough I selected all previous text messages that were restored from my 9930 and deleted them. The delay issue is fixed! Why this issue happens still needs further investigation - but I would guess there is some hang-up with text's from OS7.1 running on OS10.1

Thank you guys for keeping up on this one!

How did you delete the old text messages and not the new

Let me ask, but is it the number of texts causing the issue or specifically texts from the older os?
