I've been watching the Blackberry Z10 in the store and while BB10 is very nice and fluid, the screen is very weak. The colors and brightness is like on a cloudy day. Next to it is the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the screen just shines like an emerald.

Blackberry should have chosen an AMOLED screen instead because with that screen people will likely look elsewhere.

Look at the number of people moaning and complaining at Q10's AMOLED screen saying that they can't see anything in direct sunlight.

The Z10's screen is phenomenal as it is. Maybe you need to get your eyes checked.

You might look at the brightness settings. Z10 (as with any 4g capable device) eats power. The default is at about half brightness so that your batter will last longer.

Sounds like the display level was set to default on the demo unit on the Z10

If you turn the display to a higher level you will see a huge difference

The default level is mid point after a clean install or on a new device

If your comparison is accurate then next time your at the store pull down from the top on the Z10

Whoa whoa, the lcd cranked up to 100% on my Z looks fantastic! Idk what screen you were looking at, besides what you saw was "Demo Mode" not the real thing in action. Trust me, it looks way better than amoled.

At the very least the OP should check the screen brightness setting for the BlackBerry Z10 before posting utter poppycock.

My co-worker has an S4 so I just asked to compare his screen with my Z10 and we both agree that neither is really that much better than the other - both are fantastic screens. It's just very noticeably apparent the difference in screen sizes.

I think we are about at a plateau with technology for the time being. You can add more pixel density and larger panels at the expense of practicality and battery life. I'm obviously a z10 fan, but the sweet spot of screen size is right around where the iphone and z10 are.

Same can be said for the quad core cpu in phones...
