    Hi

I currently have an iPhone 5 and posted on Kijiji to see if someone had a Q10 they wanted to trade. I got no responses until today when a person offered me a bold 9900 plus some money for my phone. I don't know what I should do, I miss having a blackberry but I keep wondering am I going to be disappointed with the 9900.

So I put it to the Crackberry world, what do you all think I should do?

And Bold 9900 is a great phone

Look at some previews of it.

I am not a big app person, I tend to download new apps onto my phone and use them for a week then get tired of them. I really only use Facebook, Twitter(Which I can get for the bold) and Instagram( Which I can go look at on my home computer). Other social apps like Tumbler Keek and Vine I use but am not lost without them.

The 9900 is a great phone with a great keyboard but if i was you I'd stretch and wait for a Q10. Imo I can't think of anything atm on the 9900 which I prefer on my 9900 than my Q10.

Depend how you use your phone.
Generally I won't recommend exchange it for 9900. Better just sell iPhone and buy other equal or better phone.
    Try Google: "iphone 5 vs"
then you ll see what's being compare with iPhone 5.

If you looking for blackberry device equal to iPhone 5, then obviously it's either z10 or Q10
    Google: "iPhone 5" vs bb

    hello seanwplandry,

I read in another post of yours that you previously had a Torch before switching to the iPhone5. Was it a 9800 or a 9810?

To better understand your needs and if they are matched by the 9900, would you accept switching back today to that Torch? is yes why and if no, why?

Basically, the 9900 is the 9810 with a smaller screen.
For the details, the 9900 : The screen is glass, device feels more luxury, it has an NFC antenna and is a bit faster. The keyboard has more depth so typing is more enjoyable than on the 9810.

I have looked on google and gone through multiple sites and while the 9900 is a very good phone I feel that some of you are right I will stick it out

Beware: Q10 has no two way sync with local Outlook (yet), no native podcasts app, and no native app for RSS news.

So your really want to trade your iPhone 5 for a Bold 9900? If you are low on money, I understand it. If not I guess you lost your mind. Bold was a superior phone back then, but now you really need to move on to BB10 devices.

So I would stick to the iphone or sell it and get a BB10 device.

My BB9900 was my favorite till i got the Z10. i`m still a big BB qwerty keyboard fan but the Z10s screen can`t be beat...
I would just make sure its not screwed up... people on KIJIJI in some cases can`t be trusted.
i purchased a 9780 years ago the guy said it was mint...yea right was beat up and back then he wanted $300.00
    Just be careful

    hi,

BlackBerry Link 1.1.1 was released yesterday, and allows two-way sync with local Outlook, both for Z10 phones with OS 10.1, and for Q10 phones.

Disagree, give it a least 6 months for the OS to mature with essentials like keyboard shortcuts etc if you must get a Q.

It's a no go for me, no track pad, back button, charging points for charging dock. BB is no longer BB to me, Q is just like any other make of phone with a keyboard, all the features that I liked have gone.

Hope my 9900 goes on for years otherwise I have no idea what I would replace it with, but if it went tits up today it would not be a Z or a Q.

I switched from 9900 to a Z10 and omg what a difference Os10 makes. 9900 looks really nice but believe me, you want a BlackBerry with Os10. If it's a keyboard you need, then grab the Q10. The OS gets better every day with so many apps and updates coming. The 9900 is the last of the old generation BlackBerrys.

Before you get the bold 9900, meet at a carrier store and have them check to see it isn't stolen OR has water damage. Have them do a warranty check too, just in case. If they're hesitant about meeting at a carrier store, DO NOT purchase it, period. The guy probably is selling a stolen one and trust me, data will NOT work if it is.

Thanks for the Advice, I always ask to meet in a public place when dealing with Kijiji. I am very cautious when dealing with that kind of stuff, I don't give out my cell number at all, which some people do not like.

I owned Playbook, then 9900, then Z10, also have owned numerous Android phones. You will very likely regret using 9900 - its battery life sucks (the worst battery life I have ever experienced).

You will also notice that BIS makes mobile web browser experience MUCH worse - you will experience huge communication latency if used outside America/Canada.

I am now very happy with Z10, and I presume Q10 is just as nice.

Please do not go with 9900.

I have to honestly disagree with you. The browser is excellent on the 9900 and battery life rocks for me, I also carry three spare batteries on me and rarely carry a charger anymore unless it is a big event. I have gone a whole day on one battery. I guess it depends on carrier, reception and what you have running in the background.

I am very picky with apps, used to have 50+ apps installed and I made sure that none of them was misbehaving (by reading jvm statistics in os engineering screen). The 9900 used to give me only 2 hours of usage time (using screen and mobile network), which is not acceptable. I blame poor energy management in Blackberry OS 7 as well as (maybe) poor radio hardware.

Now with Z10, the battery life is way better than 9900 - At least, I can use the screen for more than 3 hours on a single charge.
