Anyone know if it's possible to pair text messaging via Bluetooth in the car - more specifically a VW Passat? My Lumia 920 read incoming texts via Bluetooth and was just curious if the Z10 has the same functionality.

I think it's up to the system in the Passat. I have MS Sync in my car. Owners manual gave instructions to determine if my Z10 would read incoming texts, indicating if it was compatible or not, and it's not. Every other Bluetooth function works great - just not text reading.

The 920 has the built-in text-to-speech/speech-to-text functionality. I am the only non-920 in my household. The car sees this function as a phone call, which is why the whole thing worked well. The z10 does not have the same functionality. You can activate voice control, then dictate a text, by dialing 9991234567. this will kick on voice control. But the Passat does not read texts as part of its infotainment system. My 2011 BMW does that. So I have cobbled together the same functionality as the 920, but it's not nearly as seamless or cool. I'm waiting for either BB or a developer to come up with the solution.
