    You know the PlayBook is a tablet, right?
    WhatsApp doesn't officially support tablets. Because.. uhh... the whole purpose is to use your phone number as the ID, so as to keep thing simple.

    You can, however, download the Android version and register with a dummy phone you actually have access to.

    When I tried it on my Android TV BOX it popped up a screen that said that it didn't support tablets and then it shutdown. Wouldn't it do the same sideloaded on the PB?

    You can even add your own ringtones to the whats app notifications if you sideload ES file explorer.

    It is ment to be 2.2 or 2.3 the Android OS on the PlayBook. Might be wrong but am sure its one of them when I checked last. (About half a year ago)
