    Have BES10 set up and working great, however a couple users have complained that contacts are not syncing from the device to the server.

    Server (outlook/exchange) to device works flawlessly.

    I have tested this and confirmed the problem.

    On the work side, I open contacts and add a new contact. Name, phone number, email. Save with no issue

    That contact never shows up in outlook (even 24 hours later)

    Do it the other way (add to outlook) and it's on the device within minutes.

    Checked all the settings on the phone, and am using the default policy in BES10. Email profile in BES10 specifies contact sync.

    Any ideas?

    When updating an existing contact does it update from BlackBerry to Outlook?

    My guess is the contacts are added to personal. There is a toggle at the top of entering a new contact that defaults to personal. Make sure you switch this to work.

    Your advice is correct and it works. You have to choose Work at the top and by default it is Personal even if you are in the "Work" space when adding the contact.

    No. The phone doesn't provide the option to save as Work either.

    Hi,
    I had the same problem and it did worked by clicking the work button..

    Now I have 2 questions??? , How can we have the "Work" option the default option, secondly, how can I transfer the previously entered contacts with the "Personal" option to "Work" or I have to delete them and enter them again with the "Work" button clicked??

    Same issue with a Q10 - contacts would not show up - couldn't even create one on the device. Solution was to re-install the O/S on the Q10 and the reactivate. This solved the contact issue and everything worked fine after that.
