Last night I waited for 30 minutes for the GPS to sync and it never did. I was in a strip mall parking lot with no tall buildings around. Even more irritating is that I had found my way to the location using the GPS (which took at least 15 minutes to sync while driving down the freeway).

One of the things I really enjoyed about my old 9000 was that it would usually sync up within a minute and sometimes nearly instantly.

I have set the options for GPS to use the network to assist in determining location, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Is there anything else I can do?

Have either of you REBOOTED (pull the battery for a minute) and determined if that would help? Could the car's windshield or roof be interfering?

Yes, I have rebooted and it does nothing to help (tip: rebooting can also be accomplished by pressing left alt + right shift + del).

The windshield could not make a difference and besides, it's the same car and physical location inside the car that I was using with the 9000. My conclusion is that the phone has inferior GPS technology.
