why is it i cannot log in my skype? it promted i have a internet connection problem but i have net in my mobile network.. so it means wifi? help some....

Can you turn notifications for skype off while it's running? it's irritating everytime i switch back and forth from skype i get a notification that it's "online". Turning off notifications in settings for skype as a third party app doesn't do anything.

Why in world would the dev think the user wants to know that skype is online. meaningless notification

I don't use Skype often, so it's useful to be able to see that I've logged out correctly by just checking if I have a Skype online notification

Actually, it should give you two kinds of notifications, but all of them with the generic bell icon.

One (most usual) for when your status changes (Online, invisible, busy, etc.).

And the other when you get a text message via skype chat. But you have to be out of the app for that to kick in and it will only be visible for unread messages. As soon as you read it, they vanish.

In the Skype settings, there are several notification options. Uncheck "Skype Status" and it won't notify when it goes online or offline.

While I understand the app is still beta, it doesn't change that it was designed to work on another platform. Regardless of the work being done it will never have the smoothness and efficiency of a native Cascades app as an Android port.
