Hi all,

Does anyone have an idea or a guess as when 10.1 will be available for those of us on a carrier not working with BB?
I have seen this referred to as "generic device" in the forum.

I have tried pulling the sim and updating via BB-link put shows no updates available.

Should I wipe for something to happen and if I do decide to wipe, can my BES activation be reinstalled from the back-up or would I need the IT-dep to bail me out?

Hope you can help me out.

I think that you have to wait for your carrier to get the update or download one from the forums. As for BES I really don't know because I have never used BES.

Oh dude, your best bet is to unlock your BlackBerry and slide in another carrier's SIM for the updates. Carriers are such annoying impedances to updates, they actively sabotage their own aspirations to be anything more than just a dumb pipe.

As foe BES, I am not entirely sure if your device will wipe those setting during the upgrade process. Maybe some BES administrators can chip in here. In the worst case, you will have to reactivate your BlackBerry with the BES server again (which may need some action on your IT department's part)
