Hello,

Currently running BES 4.1.7 for Exchange.
We just purchased the upgrade license for BES 5.0.4.
When I connected to the download link, I did not see any information related to the licence number...

Our goal was to do a fresh install of BES 5 on a new server, in the same BES domain,
move the users from server 4 to 5 using the transporter tool, and decommission the BES 4.1.7 server.

Now I am afraid... Should I install BES 4 (with the licence that I have) on the new server and then upgrade it to version 5?

I did not start any setup yet...

Do you have a BlackBerry support subscription? You should be able to get help there.

You should also read as much documentation as possible for setting up BES 5.0.4

To answer your question, no, you should install BES 5 fresh (as per the documentation). You should've gotten a new SRP ID and CAL to get started. You can transfer your existing CALs from the existing server to the new one. Then you can can migrate users with the Transporter tool.

If you didn't get the SRP ID and CAL, you should contact the reseller you purchased the upgrade from.
