Playbook has got such a capable browser.. But its a grief that we cant use 'apk2bar' site.. Not useable through the browser. The site loads just fine. But it is the stock file browser, which spoils everything.. We cant upload an .apk file.. I tried using android browsers.. But all the android ports are too laggy to use.. Its just not acceptable. File manager is such an important app. Why cant they come up with a decent one???? Playbook is a fantastic device and i love this gadget. I use it everyday.. But these basic issues puts me off.. Despite having a huge potential, Playbook never really took off.. It was a failure not for nothing..

Files and folders app is a good file manager that does everything well, I could think of many other things to be upset about the PB other than that....

Yes, I agree... check out "Files & Folders". I've tried several different ones, and none compare!

Don't bother. Nothing will satisfy OP.

Well, F&F won't help the OP in the specific situation he is referring to, i.e. uploading non media or document files through the stock browser, since the browser only uses the stock File Manager as a file picker. Workarounds exist that will let him do what he wants, as listed in the thread that Blackman91 linked to. One small point of consolation, I only have had a little experience using an ipad 1, and it seems to me that the PB 's file manager is better than the ipad's was/is.

you're cent percent right.. You should better say, ''No app will help OP out.''
i think, you understand the reason very well.. If you don't, you can read, what pacoman has stated.. Thank you very much..

By the way, i do have that 'Files & Folder' app. Nice app indeed.. But there is no way to set this app as the default file manager. That really sucks..
