First off I have to say I am loving the camera in this new physical keyboard form BlackBerry. Coming from the disaster of a camera from the 9900. Don't know how they got that SO wrong. The 9700 was quite good, then the 9900 made the 97 seem brilliant.

When the Z came along I was for the first time ever, pretty impressed with the camera for a BlackBerry, plenty of demo shots and comparisons showed it was worthy.

I held my breath when I first started using the Q, worried the camera would be its weak point... But the worry was for nothing.

Without even trying, I am already getting some beautiful shots with it. And will go out over the rest of the weekend and put it through its paces properly. But for now, a couple of my favourites, starring Aana the Alaskan Malamute.

    Look forwards to seeing them.
Now the flowers are all opening etc maybe I will take a trip to the park to test the camera more.

    In fact....

OK so here go a few cheeky pics.
Just popped to the park, but not much in bloom right now, but here's what I manage.

I have to say, for a point and shoot on auto settings, and built into a cell phone, I'm delighted with them.

Oh wow the cloudy sky in the clock tower pic is an absolute beauty! Goes to show number is not all to a camera. 8mp works just fine. Smaller file size than a 13mp pic too

Thanks, I tried to get a bit of a variety but as soon as I went out the sun hid lol.

Not the best pics, bit wanted to try close wide etc. Camera is set to 720 x720.

Also just got given a great hint. Didn't realise that you can save a normal version of the picture while using HDR. In the settings it allows you to save both from one shot.

Hopefully the weather will brighten up tomorrow, and if my foot is better, I can get further than the local park haha.

Is it possible to shot no-squared pictures with the Q10 ? I mean a normal ratio rather than 1:1.

On those HDR comparisons, which ones had HDR on? To my eyes it looks like #1 and #4 had HDR?

Spot on. Those are indeed the HDR images.
So as you spotted the HDR, which do you prefer of them, the HDR or non?

My preference are 1 and 3. Think the bandstand image works darker.

Anyway, come on people, let's see some picture.

I love how you can see the details of the morning midst on the tulips. I really didn't need to edit the shot but I like the editor so much in did anyway.

Wow to everyone that took some great pictures with the Q!

Some day we will have it in the States. I have the Bold 9930 and the camera is not the best and like you said its a weak point of the phone .
I think I am going to go with the Q when my contract is up with sprint in November and will switch to TMobile if their coverage is better that sprints.

Deffo how I see it too some of the time.
Did a lot more comparisons, but just used these as they were the clearest.
HDR works well, that much is clear, so if the test shows anything, it shows that much.

As for the preference, It's a mixed bag.

Loving the pics, the Z has captured so much there. Hoping some darn flowers start popping up round here soon, then I can really get crack'a'lackin and taking some superb pictures.

You won't regret it, as per my other thread about the Z vs Q debate, it's a GREAT phone.
