So I just realized blackberries design department hasn't had to work all that hard lately. I guess that's where all the layoffs came from

Nice pictures. In don't mind the total lack of creativity but I just don't like it when some of us laugh at the iPhone for being "The Same" when bbry isn't exactly setting the design world on fire. I saw the Q10 in store yesterday and it looks like a 9900 at first glance. I think that's why they haven't sold that many at the location I went to. When you walk by the display there is nothing omg wow what's this. FYI Oakridge mall in Vancouver has plenty of stock at fido kiosk if anyone's looking.

Looks great, but I prefer black .

Now for next year I want to see a killer qwerty. 3.5 inch screeen, up the specs all the away around, another year of app development, and refinement and polish to the OS. I will sacrifice a little on 1 hand operation for the greater screen size.

BB keep pushing and supporting the qwerty. Build on the Q10 and e take it up a few notches for 2014. Looking forward to the next iteration.

Umm.. okay.. but you're comparing apples to oranges.. This is just ONE line for BlackBerry.. they have had to come up with many designs for the Bold (now Q), Torch, Curve, and now Z line. So iPhone hasn't innovated at all from the iPhone 4 to 5, that's 3-4 separate released phones (4, 4S, 5, and probably 5S with same design as the 5). ALL they did from the 4 to 5 was make it a tad bit taller and a tad bit thinner..and they only have ONE phone model.. they could be innovating a bit more with it. BlackBerry has 5 times as many phone models, and each phone looks noticeably different from each iteration, whereas its extremely difficult to tell the difference between and iPhone 4 and 5..

If you stand there and look at the Q10 for more than 2 seconds, you will notice the HUGE difference in it not having the physical buttons for call, end, back, BlackBerry button, and trackpad. Not to mention, look at an iPhone 4 and 5 turned ON... what's the difference? Oh wow! One more row of icons, that's insanely innovative! Whereas look at a 9900 next to a Q10 with the screen turned on, even a baby can notice the difference.. It's not ALL about the design, but even if it were so, Apple is not innovating in either department, which I can argue that BlackBerry very well is, in BOTH departments.

Also, if BlackBerry hasn't changed the design much, then why is it that from the 9900 to Q10, the simple change of taking away the trackpad set the damn world on fire.. people complained left and right before even using the phone, saying the line is now ruined.. How much more would you have liked them to change it, if that one design changed made people go insane..? How many people went crazy about the new iPhone being a bit taller? Not many.. aside from the fact that it now made it give black bars to the left and right of games and movies due to its stupidly obscure aspect ratio.. and that's a genuine key to be annoyed about, because it's simply stupid.. whereas the removal of the trackpad and buttons had PURPOSE behind it, in the design and new OS designed for touch. Apple has no excuse.

Agree 100%. The all black look is the way forward. Simplicity and elegance is a powerful combo and timeless.

Love the look too. Had it a few days now and only realised earlier looking at the phone on the coffee table, side on, that it looks matt and cool haha.

Just to join in the collection pictures...

Lol, that's quite the collection... These aren't beany babies

I've always liked the chrome sides, made it look elegant and flashy. That's a good point though that the matt finish now is timeless. Can't wait to see it myself

Haha I don't collect them really, this is just a transition period. One will be gone soon.

I do just love the simplicity of the Q though. And unlike the Z it has its own ID. Where as sadly the Z is one of a bunch of 'similar' devices on the market now. But still very much a great phone.

I love the way these OP pictures show what they say, the evolution of the modern day BlackBerry. Remembering back to my 8320, im so happy with how things turned out. I can remember imagining what it would be like to have a touchscreen / physical hybrid. And here it is. Yay!
