My Q10 is warm most of the time - even when it's apparently idle. When it's working hard it gets what I would describe as hot. Not too hot to pick up or handle but definitely hotter than any other phone I've had (my Z10 got warm at times, but nothing like this.)

    Is this normal?

Yes, it is probably normal. If you have just setup email accounts it may be working in the background syncing them. I notice mine was warm while I was setting it up this morning, but this afternoon it is running pretty cool. BatteryGuru, shows it is at 23C.

Maybe. Although I set up the email accounts and they did all the big syncing three days ago so this warmth is now "normal" for my Q

No. Previous BlackBerry have been mostly cool and occasionally slightly warm, with the exception of the Z which was a little warmer a little more often.

Ha ha. BlackBerry is more thoughtful than I'd realised! It's a feature we often need here in the UK, especially as you can't operate the touch screen with gloves on......

Also had the Q10 over a month now and it rarely gets hot any more. Warm sometimes, but not hot like it did in the first week or so.

Are you in an area with poor reception? That's the only time I've noticed the phone being hot while idle-- the phone is trying hard to grab the signal.

Probably a good idea to reboot. Some android crap running in the background?

Are you getting good battery life? A hot processor might mean that the cpu is getting hammered.

Connect it to a fast wifi and wait over night. The contacts (FB, linkedin, twitter etc.pp) takes long and gets the device hot.

My Verizon Q10 is also to the hot side. I've pretty good 4G signal and solid WIFI most of the day. Can't figure out what is running the background.

Mine only gets hot when I switched on the data on my phone and it's running hspa+ and also the 3G at times. But when it's on wifi then it's ok. So I never on my data most of the time and battery would last a maximum 2 days.

My phone is always hot when i see temperature it mostly above 35 many times 39-40c . I always use wi-fi but i am always in single tower in Wi-fi. Also I am using many androind apps mostly 2-3 messengers and some other app.

What is work around ? I need to use many messengers because it my nature of business. and all are not on Blackberry World so i need to use android app.

May be i need to buy some android phone but I love Q10 much much more .... Just this problem of heating and some slow Android apps
    Else everything is perfect.

That's the processor and a problem you cannot really fix..

Wait till blackberry release a phone with better hardware that fixes problems like these.

Anyway if you use your mobile for gaming than its obv it's gets hot, no matter what phone you use!
