Loaded the best .bar I could find for Shazam (1.7.7504.0, and no, I don't remember where I found it) on my Z10 rocking the leaked 10.1.0.1483 release OS, and I was pleasantly surprised and ENORMOUSLY frustrated.

1. It finally loads! Yay!
2. When you go to tag a song, it throws an error that reads "Couldn't tag, another application might be using the microphone". Boo!
3. Does allow login via Facebook
4. Does allow chart browsing
5. Seems pretty responsive and stable. Too bad it doesn't work.

Frustrating as this is, it does represent progress. If anyone has any insight into that microphone error--or has access to a newer .bar--please weigh in!

Not sure why but Android apps have limited access to the microphone. I was trying the voice clip function in Facebook Messenger and showed the same error.

*sigh* I was so excited just to see it actually open. This feels like being given a Ferrari, only to find someone has stuck glue in the ignition switch.

One other note: first launch after a restart is SLOOOOW, but you can close it and it will re-launch in seconds.

I hope we eventually get Shazam. I used it so much on my 9810 and really miss it. It is the only thing that will IF instrumental tunes accurately. Soundhound doesn't work nearly as well from my experience.

Shazam is the one app that I'm really missing on bb10. Can't wait for a port to work or even better a native app to come!

I've used Shazam at the bar, while watching movies, and even commercials if a song caught my attention.

I use it to make a list of songs I'd like to add to my music library later. It's so much easier than trying to write them down or type them in, and it can tell the difference between remixes and such, which I could never do on my own. Shazam makes sure I get the one I actually like. I miss it and can't wait for it to come to BB10

Big deal? It's huge. I'm a big music fan and it's really irritating to not be able to find out what certain songs are. I'm all for defending BlackBerry but don't undermine our need for certain aps.

Shazam works using xsacha's debug token conversion method on OS 10.1. Jelly bean isn't required.

I'll give this a try. It's good to have SoundHound (their Live Lyrics feature is pretty much magical), but Shazam seemed to work better.

Shazam is now working flawlessly out of the box, just run the shazam APK and you're all set.
