Hi guys, so i bought my blackberry z10 2 days ago and so far loving it only i am having one slight issue. Whenever i put a display picture up on bbm its low quality really fuzzy you can barely see anything. I asked my friends what hey could see in there end of the phone and they say that my picture is really pixelated and really small. I tried cropping the picture and it still doesnt help is anyone else having the same problem its really annoying does anyone know how to fix this?.

Where did the picture come from? Is it a picture taken with the Z10 or did you transfer it from your computer?

I just went and checked by BBM avatar and can say that mine looks noticeably less clear than the original.
I opened the original pic and zoomed it in a bit and it appears to me the BBM uses less resolution and zooms it when I display it.
I tried it again just now with a picture taken with the camera and the effect is similar, almost like a filter put on it.
I suspect a degradation in resolution to keep the file size down is the culprit.

Are your pictures square?

200x200 I believe is what works best.

But yeah i can understand it going a bit lower resolution.. but it doesnt make since that it goes pixelated for my contacts and that the picture becomes TINY! :/ i never had an issue with this on my previous blackberrys..

Yeah. My display picture resolution gets badly reduced. And it's real bad. Would be mad if they don't fix this in the next update. There is a workaround tho: you can use picmix to update your dp, and it will be as clear as if you were using an os 7 device

Anyone notice this on the contact card pictures?

I edited a picture of my girlfriend using the built in editor and used it as her contact pic, and whenever she calls... it is pixelated. Not real bad but still. Why does iPhone work so well with those contact pics even though it occupies the fill screen?
