[frustrated with playbook]

i am trying to put yahoo messenger app on my playbook. It will download but when i click on the download a window opens up that says "unable to find default app"
another one will say that this item is not supported by your current device
what am I doing wrong?

Is true, unfortunately blackberry playbook is not supported to download yahoo messenger. The same happen with the BBM is still not available for playbooks.

I f you can find the post about how to sideload apps on your playbook read nd follow the instruction there..You have to have your playbook connected to your laptop or pc and have the ddpbinstaller on your laptop orpc then you also have to have your playbook in development mode. Go to the website and download Yahoo Messenger here it works great and you can find many other good app and games. I don't know if the Android version of Yahoo Messenger works on Playbook, but can't you use IM+ or some similar multi-protocol messenging app?

(also, I used to use Y! messenger, but I find that I get way, way too many contact requests from spammers, making it really annoying to use)

I have been using google chat and it works well. I just wanted messenger because yahoo is my main email.

i have been using reel portal to video chat with a friend but the sound sucks. It is constantly cutting in and out to the point that we mainly text chat now. is there another app for video chat that will work on bb and pc?

You could check the goodereader website they also give instructions how to sideload apps...

There's IM+Pro app for the playbook. It's a pay app.
