    UPDATE 17/05: Sachibar has been updated, everything is working now! You can use this method without worries, and it WON'T wipe the device! Yay!
    Hi guys

    it's faenil here some of you might know me for my past in the Symbian firmware modding community (especially on Samsung i8910) but time goes by fast and here I am, having fun with BB10

    Q: is this guide for me?
    A: this guide is for people who, for one reason (their carrier is slow at sending updates) or another (I'm looking at you BB10 developers who got the LE device and are still stuck at 10.0.9.2372) are stuck with an old firmware version, and have been looking for a way to get the latest official firmware for their phone.
    I have tried it on STL100-1, but the method should work for all BB10 models

    HOW-TO: Update ALL BB10 devices to the latest official OS version (now 10.1)-20130424233.jpg

    Q: why did I do this?
    A: I received the Limited Edition device from BlackBerry (thanks a lot!!) but since they sent all people in EMEA (Germany excluded) the wrong model version (the one which carriers in our countries DON'T sell) the device didn't want to update its firmware, always returning a "You already have the latest firmware available" which is a very old 10.0.9.2372!! BlackBerry said they were looking for a solution, but after weeks of not seeing any news regarding that, I've been doing some research for the last 4 days and finally had success updating my Limited Edition STL100-1 device to the latest firmware available for STL100-1 phones.
    Also, yesterday I had a nice chat with xsacha, we shared our ideas (thanks mate) and he updated his sachup to reflect the new discoveries

    Q: How to do that?
    A: Here's the thing:
    Requirements:

    1. Go to Settings -> About, and read your Model Number (e.g. STL100-1)
    2. Open Sachup and change the Model to that of your phone (If you have STL100-1 TRY BOTH STL100-1 #1 and STL100-1 #2 model)
    3. Change the Country code and the CarrierID using the codes from the list at the end of this post
    4. Set Mode to Upgrade
    5. Download the firmware via Sachup, it will create a folder full of .bar files inside Sachup's directory
    6. Open Sachibar, and drag the folder with the firmware files into Sachibar, as simple as that!
    7. Wait for Sachibar to finish updating the OS. It should take some time: from 30mins up to 1hour for the whole process to be completed. So just wait patiently for the phone to reboot
    8. Enjoy the updated OS!

    Q: How to find the ID of the carrier who offers the latest update for my model?
    A: We will keep an updated list of the carriers ID who offer the latest update here, or you can try looking here! :

    Z10
    STL100-1 (and EMEA, except Germany, Limited Edition Devices): Country: 226 CarrierID: 010 ---> OS version 10.1.0.2312
    STL100-2 (and USA/Germany Limited Edition devices): Country: 234 CarrierID: 010 ---> OS version 10.1.0.1720
    STL100-3: Country: 310 CarrierID: 150 ----> OS version 10.1.0.2074
    STL100-4: if you have this model and you have a better firmware send me a private message to help me keep this list updated!!

    Q10
    SQN100-1: Country: 310 CarrierID: 150 ----> OS version 10.1.0.2121
    SQN100-3 (and DevAlphaC): Country: 234 CarrierID: 030 ----> *OS version 10.1.0.1720
    SQN100-5: Country: 302 CarrierID: 490 ----> OS version 10.1.0.2062

    Help me keep the list updated, send me a PM if you have a model with a more updated FW than the one on the list, so that everyone will be able to upgrade to that firmware!! Thanks!

    Is there a release notes link?

    I have the STL100-1, and currently have the 10.0.10.648 rev. on mine currently, and am wondering if its worth the upgrade.....

    Faenil do you know if this method can also be used on succeeding update? I'm thinking if I waited this long for the latest update I might wait to for the other next update and the supposed to be next update is 10.1 and I don't want to wait for this long

    - Check password on top left
    - Check ip address on both phone and pc
    - Make sure that your phone is in development mode

    ps I'm not 100% sure DingleBerry is Win8 compatible
