Hello everyone. I'm a new Z10 user and was hoping to get some help with connecting my Z10 to be able to play music files and stream radio through apps like tunein and nobex in my car. With the iPhone, it was very simple ... i plugged in the iPhone usb cable to my usb port in my car and it just worked, very simple. I tried the same with my new Z10 with the cable the phone came with and nothing .. will not connect with my car stereo. Has anyone successfully done this type of thing in they're car ?

    Thanks for the help!

Does it have bluetooth capability? My phone is paired with my car and automatically plays whenever I'm in the car.

My car doesn't have an aux outlet, 3.5mm one that is, only a usb. When I plug it in, the blackberry link pops up on my z10 but my car deck always says unsupported. Any others have experiences with this or any way to get me to do what I want to do.

I can't. It's not available in the menu unless I put in a micro sd card in it apparently. I'm not looking to play music from my z10 like through an ipod or similar. I want to be able to stream radio through my z10 into my car sound system.

Sorry. I don't have a solution for you as I don't think it's possible. Easiest and cheapest way I did it on my civic was by purchasing a bluetooth fm transmitter that clips on to my visor.

Obviously not the answer you are looking for, but in terms of streaming radio from the z to the car stereo, I think it's the easiest solution.

I was actually lying, my car does have 3.5mm aux jack right underneath the power outlet. Had the car for 3 years and didn't even notice lol. Anyway, anyone have any experiences using a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable from the z10 to the aux outlet in the car to play music and stream music to the car stereo ?

Streaming from the headphone jack of the phone to the car's aux input wouldn't be any different than listening through headphones.

Yup plug it in. Hit aux on the stereo and you're off to the races. Works like a charm, louder volumes can get distorted depending on file quality but it works. You'll have to unplug for calls though. Doesn't quite work for me when left plugged in.

When I try this with my Z10, if the phone and stereo are already connected with the double ended cable when I press play, I invariably get the "unsupported media" error message. If I start with the song playing thru the phone's speaker and then plug the cable into the phone, it will usually work OK. Sometimes, plugging the cable into the phone will cause the voice command function to fire up. Tolerable, but still quite annoying. When I simply plug in any type of ear-buds instead of the double ended cable, music plays perfectly. Why does it make a difference what is plugged into the Z10?

I used a 3.5 jack for years with various phones until I switched to using blue tooth with this phone. No problems and good sound quality!
