- I knew Verizon would not let me down. My hubby wants a Curve (patting self on back for converting him) but his upgrade date was like April or May, they actually thought we were going to pay retail. So I called CS asked very nicely to speak to a supervisor. The rep said I am sure I can help you, I assured her she could not but here goes, she gave standard company line----not due for an upgrade. I politely said, that is why asked for a supervisor. Supervisor came on, checked payment history said account has always been in good standing and changed his upgrade date to today!!! Between the current $70 off and the upgrade program with BB, we will pay practically nothing for his new curve (I think I am more exicted than him!!!!).10-06-08 12:51 PMLike 0
- What is the upgrade program with bb and how do I get in it?

The title of the thread was "Verizon Rocks". The original poster was actually saying something nice. While I've had my issues with Verizon, it's nice to hear that customers have good experiences also.
I'm glad your husband is getting a BB. I wish I could convert my husband, but he's not into the tech stuff. He just wants a cell phone that makes calls.
Enjoy your twin BBs. WTG Verizon.10-06-08 03:38 PMLike 0 - you misunderstood my post. I said if I had recieved her call, I WOULD'VE authorized it. The second statement about yelling was merely an afterthought- polite customers like her are all to rare.10-06-08 04:22 PMLike 0

- Ooops. How about I read MY post again and then respond. Sorry about that. I thought you had said "wouldn't". I think the afterthought you added in threw me off. I think I'll shut up now. LOL10-06-08 05:37 PMLike 0
- yeah im a data specialist at vzw and people who yell are definitly given less leeway. whenever youre nice, we go out of our way. any questions about your new curve? feel free to ask.10-06-08 06:10 PMLike 0
- ok I stand corrected!!! Verizon CS ROCKS!!!!! Verizon salespeople need HELP!!!!
Went to Verizon to get the phone, hubby had a toothache so he was in a mood!!! The salesperson was in a mood so the two did not mix!!! She told us she would need to charge us $20 to upgrade because it was a secondary line. We were both like WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!! I said in Aug. I upgraded the main line and the third (out of 4) for free and they transferred the #s for free. She looked up account and said well they should have it has been since Apr. Hubby already in a bad mood said forget it let's go now, I am not going to pay them to give them more money!!!! So he calls CS: they have NEVER heard of this $20 charge---he said she is completely WRONG. So back in we go---the store is now packed. The rep initially said I will just give you a $20 credit. He stayed online with hubby. Hubby finally got sick of waiting so the CS said just do it online, automatic $70 credit and free overnight shipping. He is also going to have his supervisor call the store to deal with that situation!! Oh yeah, she called it a processing fee!!!!!10-06-08 07:02 PMLike 0 - No company is perfect (can't account for what every single employee will do), but Verizon gets it right waaaaaay more than they get it wrong.
Verizon offers the best service & coverage rather than offering the newest phones first so that tells you lots about their priorites.
I also understand that their training is the best in the business.10-06-08 07:26 PMLike 0 - ok I stand corrected!!! Verizon CS ROCKS!!!!! Verizon salespeople need HELP!!!!

10-07-08 07:37 PMLike 0 - Is the line you are upgrading eligible to upgrade? There is a $20 esn change fee (processing fee) only if you are upgrading on a different line and changing the new phone to another number on your account after activation. If all you are doing is upgrading a secondary line that is eligible to upgrade, there should be no fee. There is also a $20 fee for a primary line to upgrade via E upgrade or annual upgrade if enrolled in my verizon. Plus, if you were allowed to transfer your phonebook the last time you upgraded in august with no charge, then it sounds like your are a vip customer. If this is so, there shouldn't be any fees associated with upgrading regardless. Its always best to upgrade online via my verizon to take advantage of instant rebates and online pricing which is always better than in store and customer service pricing.
the CSR called back and apologized he was wrong. There is a $20 fee, to upgrade a secondary line (does not matter if phone # is changing or not---we were not changing the number). We had not ordered it online yet so he said we could go to store he would notate account to give us it all at no charge. so we got the phone with no upgrade fee, and the numbers changed at no charge. needless to say hubby LOVES it and is well on his way to becoming an addict.10-09-08 11:54 AMLike 0 - the CSR called back and apologized he was wrong. - I am not sure where you are gettin that info or if they are telling unsuspecting customers that but that is what we were told by several. He was due for an upgrade and the only thing we were changing was from a razr to a curve----same number and everything!!!! Where are you getting that information, seems like everything we went through it would be true.10-09-08 04:36 PMLike 0

$180 -$80 online discount -$100 NE2
Total price: $0
Well, the cost is in the 2 year contract... But still a free Blackberry made my iphone friends jealous10-12-08 09:13 PMLike 0 - I got a similar deal...I was only 11 months into my last contract, and had serious issues with my LG 8700, I exchanged it 5 times for various reasons. I had a couple buddies who didn't believe I didn't have a BB, so I went and talked to VZW on a busy saturday morning and walked out with a BB Curve for 79.99 and a 79.99 rebate cert!
