I switched from an Os7 to z10 and am happy, but did anybody else notice that you lose both free tethering AND hot spot? Or is there just something wrong with my phone / plan?

The options are there, but it might be carrier dependent. If you go to Network Connections they should both be listed.

Verizon. When I go to options and select...it hangs and says I need a different data plan.

I believe you have to have a data sharing plan to use the feature.

I've been a data share plan which allows me to both tether and use the x
Z10 As a hot spot for up to 10 devices.

Not sure about that. Used bbry bridge to connect to z10 today 4G connection great browsing. Have to experiment with a phone call later today.

Pili4 was correct. I switched to a share plan and now tethering and hot spot work

I'm not sure about the z10 specifically but it works fine on my GS3 only when connected to 4G. If it drops to 3G its definitely a no go.
