How do I do this in such a way that I dont get an update that just reinstall them. This is a minor annoyance for sure but I dont want to get excited with BB telling me I have an update waiting when its just an app that I chose to delete.

My main example is that I really dont need a link to youtube on my homescreen.

You can't delete them without prompting an update to replace the deleted apps. Its very annoying.

I don't use Dropbox, Box, foursquare, linkdin, pocket news (Telstra specific) and I want to be able to hide or remove them without being annoyed by updates.

I'm guessing it's because they are integrated into the hub.

Hardly a massive deal though, if you don't use them put them in a folder.

Not massive to you no. But some of us don't like extra things on their devices. Not even an extra junk folder. On 7 we could hide icons which was great.

But these guys invest to have these icons placed on our devices. So we'll just have to work around them. It's like going to the movies and sitting through the trailers and commercials. It would be great to have the just the movie but...

I've actually did that stupid update a few times before I realized it was just the icons being put back on because blackberry link doesn't tell you what you're about to upgrade too and I didn't notice it was the same update I had just done. I check it on my device first though to make sure it'd not the one us Verizon guys are waiting on.
