Just found this thought I'd share for those who don't know. When in the phone app pull down on the screen to see your number.

I never really understood why this feature exists? I remember my own number even after a few beers.

What does Blackberry's developer guide says that the swipe down is supposed to be for? Is it for settings? I thought they wanted consistency and I'm not sure if I am seeing it.

This is more useful feature. Nor for everyone but for the first 2 years of last contract I could never remember my number and this would have been quite useful

Now a days I've had my number for so long it's not even a single thought. But if my number was to change or I were to be getting a second line

Lol I have a new number so I use it. It takes me a while to learn my numbers sadly.

How many texts and calls are you getting now that you shared your number with the entire CrackBerry nation?

This is not done by swiping down from the top edge like what you are talking about. You see the number by swiping down from within the phone app.

If you swipe down on the app, you see the number. If you swipe down from the top of the screen, you get the settings.

I believe the OP meant pull the screen down. Swiping down from the top bezel will get you into the settings options.

Might have already been answered somewhere, but this isn't a "swipe down" from the bezel but rather a pull down while within the app.. much like pulling down within the hub reveals upcoming events.

If you swipe down from the top bezel, it brings up the menu for settings and such. If you swipe down from the top part of the screen just underneath the bezel (where the options for voicemail and "Add Number" are) you see your own number. So the consistency you are looking for is, in fact, present.

The phone number is read off the SIM card so you would need to go through your carrier.

I'm pretty sure the iPhone had this feature.

But this is only good if you aren't on the phone.

I recently was traveling in the states with an AT&T SIM card and was making a pizza order and they ask for my phone number, LOL. Lucky I remember that you can go to Settings > About > Category SIM Card and your phone number will be displayed.

You don't have to swipe down all the way at the top for the phone number to show ...settings you do
