The Rogers Press Release states that their Q10 will utilize Band 7 i.e. 2600MHz LTE, they obviously have Band 4 AWS LTE as well. If you look through the specs that have been leaked for the Q10 variants there is not a model that does both LTE bands.

Since Rogers has press released this I guess it is safe to assume they will be selling the only variant with Band 7 LTE support i.e. SQN100-3. Bell could also sell this one since they have the 2600MHz spectrum with LTE deployed as well but I do not think Telus does as they share Band 4 LTE with Bell Nationally...

...so Bell could sell either SQN100-3/SQN100-5/SQN100-1 and I think Telus can only sell SQN100-5/SQN100-1

Wind/Mobilicity/Videotron, if they do carry it will have to sell the SQN100-5 due to Band 4 HSPA+ support.

Maybe someone else has some greater insight?

Engaget is carrying this story Rogers leak pins BlackBerry Q10 Canadian launch date as April 30th (update: pricing confirmed) -- if this is true i.e. both Band 4 and 7 LTE support none of the phones in the specs leaked will work, maybe there is a SQN100-4 that we are all unaware of?

Looks like the Fido version does not even have the 2600MHz LTE, maybe that is reserved for the higher paying Rogers customers only...

BlackBerry Q10 will be available on April 30th for Rogers. It will be the only Rogers phone using the 2600 Spectrum so it will be the fastest phone on the Rogers Network.

Rogers will be the first Canadian Carrier to launch the BlackBerry Q10.

Telus is releasing the Q10 on the 29th so that would make Rogers not the first Canadian carrier

Annnnd, as I said in the other thread you posted this in...

The LG Optimus G 2600, which has 2600 in its name, has the same network speeds. So the Q10 is not the fastest, nor the first 2600 MHz device on the Rogers network.

TELUS is shipping on the 29th, the devices don't actually go on sale until the 30th -- just like alllllll the other carriers.

Here in Regina I just unlocked my Rogers Q10 SQN100-3, when unlocked does not get LTE when I stick a SaskTel SIM in it... (Which has LTE network frequencies at 1900Mhz I believe).

Interesting, as the Z10 STL100-3 worked with LTE on both.

  3. Roger Cheng is right. If they had to choose, Blackberry should have launched Q10 first.
