So the agency I work for has this plan available...

Includes all system access and 911 fees

    5GB of data

    350 Local Weekday Minutes

    1000 local incoming minutes

250 Canadian long distance minutes (10 cents per minute afterwards)

    Unlimited Local Evenings (6pm)

    Unlimited Local Weekends

Unlimited National Rogers to Rogers (cell phone to cellphone)

    Unlimited messages(SMS/MMS)

    Voicemail

    Call Display with Name Display

Per second billing ( after the 1st minute)

Call waiting, Call forwarding & Group calling

    Detailed Billing

An option for $5 Unlimited Canadian long distance is available with this plan- to add this, please select from the Add ons page after selecting this plan.

All of this for 50 bucks a month.

I am currently paying 80 for less data and fewer minutes and no long distance minutes... but i have my10.

So asides from possibly saving a bit of money does this seem like a good deal? I had negative dealings with our corporate rep before when they said that they hadn't been able to respond to my email since they were out of the office...ummm.. don't you sell smartphones?

If I upgrade my phone when the time comes will I have to go through my corporate rep? Does this affect my flextab? Will a Rogers rep be able to match this deal?

I appreciate any help you can give.

    Thanks.

I would take it in a heart beat. From my experience if you have your discount code om hand Rogers customer service should be able to make the plan change for you. At least they did when I changed my plan.

That discount is pretty darn good!

I called Rogers. They put me through to a business rep. The issue was complicated by the fact my Corporate plan provider didn't have a code for the deal. I simply gave them the URL so they could verify the deal existed and they set it up on my account. No change to my flextab or anything.

This plan is still active for BC Public Sector empires. I've had it since it came out, but friends have recently signed up for it as well. Paid $0 for my Z10 when I grabbed it as well.

How do your friends sign up for it. Do they work there also?

Yes, you've got to have a way of verifying you are a Public Sector employee - but their definition of this is fairly broad from what I've seen. Some have been able to sign family members up as well on the plan.

I was recently in the same boat with Rogers as I was paying close to 80 bucks for voice, text and 2gb and was offered the same corporate plan because of my employer and I switched in a heartbeat. Save over $25 a month and go from 2gb to 5gb of data, I can't argue with that. But I don't have any need for my10 but I can't imagine it being worth saying with your old plan.

I have the exact same plan, except for I have 6GB grandfathered in, my wife has this plan with 5GB. We both pay 50 bucks a month also.

Rogers is very flexible in the sense that you can change your plan at any time with no fee, and no affect on your contract or flex tab. The key is to check the offerings often.. when my wife got this plan it was offered with 3GB.. 2 months later it was offered with 5GB, just call and they'll switch it, but u gotta know and you gotta call. The next time they've got the 6GB promo in I'll be calling again. (usually comes up every time a new iPhone gets released. )

You don't need to deal through a corporate rep though. Just call 1-888-Rogers-1 and get transfered to business. Any one of them can lookup your corporate MSD code and put the plan on your account.. sometimes you'll get someone who can't or won't, just hang up, call back.. the next person will.

That's pretty good compared to the plans currently out there. The $50 an doesn't exist anymore and the cheapest ones I've seen with data start at $60

Looks like the same plan for government employees in BC.

Seems to be taking forever to go through though. Is anyone else having problems with Rogers giving you your corporate rate?

They still have $50 plans. I'm on the Scotiabank Corp plan:

    1gb data
    Unlimited North American calling
    Unlimited North America texting
    Voice mail
    Call display

Not that bad (except not that much data) for $50 per month plus tax.
