Has anyone noticed this "cool" feature? Whenever I get close to my laptop (Lenovo X220) RIM Device Manager asks for my Z10's password and if I put in my password I am able toaccess my Z10 file system and sd card.

Does anyone know how this is being done? Wi-Fi? NFC?

    Thanks!

    Most likely bluetooth.
I have the same Laptop and I love my X220!
I will try this, I don't think you can rely on it to transfer songs or videos though, it may be too slow.

You mean you never added it to your computer either? How about password in your blackberry. This sounds like a security issues, I don't think it would just automatically connect and access to data.
Setting is under media sharing. Drop Down on home screen and choose settings the. Scroll to media sharing. Hit Devices...

The settings are in storage and access, "access using wifi". This feature was originally introduced on the playbook and I was glad to see it come to bb10. It works over wifi. It seems to have gotten a lot faster as I just transferred a dvd movie (about 2 g) from my computer in about 5 min. so it is quite useful.

The "Access using Wi-fi" setting is off and I have never turned that on... This is getting really strange haha

Hrmm... I am starting to think this is a feature of BB Link...

You must have it enabled in Link (connect with cable again) and allowed Device Manager to mount those file systems (after you put in the unlock password). I'm pretty sure Device Manager can unmount it wireless, but if you want to turn it off try connecting to to link, go to your device, go to settings and disabling wireless access.

The settings on the device itself is so other computers can access it, it doesn't need to be enabled if you created a relationship with your device and your computer.
