When I take my z10 and rotate it, there is a definite lag to change screen position. Way slow as compare to an Iphone5. Any ideas what would cause this, is it normal?

I noticed that too. Somebody pointed out to me that I should hold it more vertical. Sort unnatural angle to hold it at, but only when you rotate it. Give it a try anyways. I think they will likely work on making this better in future releases of the OS.

It's a normal happening. Not sure what causes it, but I think it's just a software issue that will be fixed in a future update. Sometimes mine gets stuck in landscape and won't go back to portrait until I landscape the other way.

I guess it's just another quirk, I really want to love this phone, but I'm struggling a bit
I always said the reasons I had a BlackBerry was because it was great for sending emails and making phone calls. The z10 certainly does that, assuming the battery does in fact improve with software updates, kind of worried about making it thru the day with a charge At this Point.

Actually, this was *significantly* improved in the .85 OS update, which I'm guessing you guys have yet to receive?

I have the latest update but also suffer from the laggy landscape and portrait. Hopefully they will further enhance the speed of the rotation.

The reason it is slow is probably because the algorithm that does the switching is trying to check to see if you actually want to switch orientations, or if you are accidentally tilting it.

If it switched too fast, it might start switching every which way when say you tilt it a bit or if you are moving your hands around.
But I guess it works both ways because now it just seems laggy. They should definitely have a sensitivity option.

You have a good point, my iPhone 5 seems to be overly Sensitive, especially when I am laying on a bed or couch, and have the device in weird positions

I still find the orientation really slow - how do other folks find it? I am running 10.0.10.85 on Rogers

Also pretty slow for me still and sometimes it's just stuck and won't go back to portrait mode for a long time.
