I tried updating my z10 SLT100-2 bought in UK (unlocked) and using it in India on Vodafone
First it never showed any updates on 10.0.9.something
Then I tried to update it by removing my sim card and checking it on the web
I got a small update for another 10.0.9 os
Tried inserting a non working at&t sim but no luck
Any way else I can update to 10.0.10.x?

OS updates come from carriers. You have a UK phone, so you'll need a UK carrier sim card in it to receive any updates.

I'm in Bulgaria with the same problem till yesterday. Here is how I've updated:
1. Turn off the phone
2. Remove SIM card
3. Power up and connect the phone to the PC
4. Open BlackBerry - Software Updates - New Update Software for BlackBerry Smartphones - US with Internet Explorer (important)
5. There should be a "Check for Update" button.


If you are using non-supported browser, you will see this:

I didn't perform any backup, so after the upgrade I had to install EVERYTHING.

connect your device to your PC and open The Link.
Click the phone Pic down the Link. and then go to Settings.
Click - Reload Software Device. and then he will try to find the new OS.

just remember to backup your Z10 casue the update will Wipe your device settings and Android Side-loaded apps

Hi there,

Tried the method you described... but the software says Cannot load due to error (null)... and the phone is showing a constant green LED... I waited about 20 min, didn't see any changes so I quit Link and phone just re-booted.

Is this normal (ie, should I wait for longer) or an actual error?

This morning I've tried it again.
My build version was shown as "Information not available", so I've decided to try updating again.
It took some time, but the browser method works. I'm not sure how to explain it, but I had to restart my phone (to be sure there is nothing still connected to the Link software). While the device was booting up, I've hit the "Check for Updates" button and I got the update to .90

I popped in a UK sim and a dubai sim and both showed the os update when I checked. Got 739mb of update and all my files and applications were intact when it was done

I used the Web update method while restarting the phone and worked perfectly.
