I have a new Z10 on the way and was thinking about all of the gesture based glory of the new OS. This got me thinking about screen size and how the OS will handle on the Z10 vs. the Q10. I was curious as to what people's thoughts were on if the overall experience will be "better" on the Z10 or the Q10. I don't know if a gesture based OS would inherently perform better on a larger screen, or if the of the Q10 smaller screen makes shorter swipes quicker in navigation.

I'm a hard core keyboard guy, but since getting the Z10, I'm not waiting for the Q10 and will very likely pass once it.

I'm not sure if the swipey Os will translate well to the keyboard form factor. I think the keyboard will get in the way. I'll try it out in a store, but I'm really digging the larger screen on the Z10, and the on screen keyboard simply knocks it out of the park.

I feeling that the Q10 will be a disappointment from a users perspective without the shortcut keys and trackpad...

Honestly, the screen should've been moved up and the blackberry logo should've been under the screen, not on top on the Q10. That would've made the swipe up gesture as easy to use as the Z10, not awkward in the small space between the keyboard and the screen.

One feature miss from my bold 9900 is all the keyboard shortcuts. T for top, B for bottom, R for refresh, C for compose new email, L for reply all, assign speed dials to keys, etc

I think to have that combined with the slickness of BlackBerry 10 OS will be even better

My only worry is that the gestures on the q10 will be compromised given the smaller screen.

I think the biggest factor between the two will be battery and physical keyboard vs screen size. IMO I think gesture control will not be an issue. I'm wondering if the same apps will be available on the q10 with the different screen size.

Exactly. Such a tiny bezel between the screen and the keyboard. They could have moved the logo bezel down. Not sure how the gestures would be. Lets wait and see.

That would've made it top heavy, as it is now the Q10 is perfectly balanced.

Z10 will b best for this gesture all in one package . typing experience are so good. using all physical keyboard for ages. but after this z10. it makes another new feel . which some of us are bored with old os or other os experience. this new bb 10 with z10 handset are beast.

With the bigger screen on the Z10, it would be easier to use gestures.
Maybe an trackball on the Q10 would of helped.....probably not.
