I tested both device, and the ti-omap (stl100-1) seems more fluid in the settings > submenu, why is that? , the snapdragon (stl100-2) is stuttering inside submenu of setting (eg. settings > notifications)

Probably because they are running on different version of BB10

I've updated both to the latest firmware.

The weird thing is on specs, the snapdragon chipset will be faster about 10-20% of performance, but in real life testing with z10, looks like STL100-1 with ti-omap on z10 seems to be running more fluid.

Is it because when bb10 was developed all dev-alpha devices including playbook has the ti-omap hardware?, so is the os is more properly coded on the ti-omap?

I see a lot if people complaining on a slight lag in settings menu. I'm using STL-2. I haven't noticed any lags.

@omercan : the STL100-1 is using TI-OMAP 4470, it is also using qualcomm radio / modem, so what you see in about pages is not stating what chipset its used.

    STL100-2 / 3 / 4 is using the same chipset (snapdragon s4 with adreno 225), but STL100-1 is using TI-OMAP 4470 with PowerVR SGX-544

Well it might be that the PowerVR is slightly snappier for some 2D stuff like menus. Or just that the OS is better optimized for the OMAP as the Dev Alpha was a TI-OMAP 4470 as well.

No it is not, only the STL100-1 is using TI-OMAP 4470 configuration.

And mind you, even the OS updates is in different iteration, as of right now, STL100-1 latest OS updates is 10.0.10.82
And STL100-2 latest OS updates is 10.0.10.90

@omrcan7 : try benchmark with geekbench, i got 1600-1700 total scores. I believe with ti-omap it will be lower about 1400-1500 ish.

As far as I know the STL100-1 has a bit better gpu, while it's CPU is not as fast as the others.

If you minimise the keyboard in CB10 with a 2 finger swipe down after typing a comment you get the option at the bottom to attach a picture.

What is there to share fir Kevin? We know everything already for many weeks?

Not sure what else you need to know omarcan7?

We had quite a few threads already defining the differences. We have the specs, we have the geek bench scores. We have the OS compatibility of the stl100-1 with the dev alpha which had the ti omap, so there is no absolutely no doubt that this is the case.

The power vr might be slightly faster than the Adreno but is in pure processing power around 25-30% slower than the snapdragon.

Real Life relevance is minimal. I have a stl100-1 and it's smooth as butter.

Enjoy your Z10 with any CPU and GPU ;-)
