I recently installed battery guru and it says my battery health is 96%.

    What's is your battery health?
How do you charge your battery? Stock charger or PlayBook charger?

    95%

I was using the PlayBook charger a lot the first 2-3 weeks, but have started to use the regular (slower) charger in the last couple of weeks.

I will still break out the PlayBook charger if I need a quick boost bit don't have hours to wait.

So PlayBook chargers damage the battery life I suppose. I've only used it twice and it made my battery life deplete like that. Would have never thought it would have made that much of a difference

    Battery Health: 99%

I use the standard BlackBerry Z10 USB cable and wall-socket adapter to recharge the battery. I have not used the in-car 1.8 mAh charger yet.

I've had my Z10 for almost a month now but only just downloaded Battery Guru. My battery health is at 95% but who knows what it arrived with. I've mostly been using the PlayBook and car chargers.

    From Battery Guru's site:

    What is "battery health"?

In short, it's how much charge your battery holds compared to the manufacturer's specifications.

Most batteries even a month old will likely have dropped to around 90%, and over the next couple of years this will drop gradually to around 50%. At that point your battery will provide only half the designed capacity.

FYI, I fully discharged my battery yesterday and charged it overnight. Battery Guru is reporting the health at 99%, up from 95%.

Mine is at 94% currently but varies by several percent based on my charging patterns.

Also note that the health value should be used more for watching for long-term trends with your own battery than for comparisons between batteries. Not all batteries are shipped with the same capacity, despite what it says on the label, and health is merely a measure of the actual capacity versus the labelled one.

I found the battery health indication completely unreliable. After installing Battery Guru in my few days old phone, the battery health was at 88%. After a couple of weeks it went down to 66%, after another week it went up to 106% (!) for a few days and currently it shows 99% health, go figure!

94-96%. been using the playbook's charger for the last 1 month. i'll go back to the standard charger from tonight, hopefully it will boost the battery life, seems the playbook charger charges faster but for some reason the discharging rate of the battery is somewhat higher, hhm..

Health-131.. i don't really care abt the reading cos the batt can last up to14 hrs of normal usage. Sometimes can charge up to 98% and shut down ard 30%.

The value appears to reset, in many cases, to 100% after a battery swap. Unlike on the PlayBook where this was a pretty consistent and reliable value, it is a bit more "ephemeral" on BB10 and I wouldn't worry about it too much, especially if you do battery swaps. Use it as a secondary indication that there may be a problem, if you start observing low battery life and also see a low health value. That may indicate a bad battery.

Values like 131% just go to show that the OS calibration of this value is somewhat unreliable, since there's no way the battery is actually storing 31% more energy suddenly.

    Second week 189%
    Third week 78%
    Fourth week 23%

You get the idea. I just never bothered to take the stats seriously ever again.

The OS is to blame. It happens to me that I'll charge my Z10 and battery guru shows 94% for like 30 mins for example. Then when I unplug it it jumps to 100%. The OS sees this as your battery capacity is 94% and so Battery Guru pulls the stat in and displays it within the app as battery health. Batt Guru only displays what the OS is giving it. This is my understanding of how battery health works. But again, this does not necessarily mean that you actually have 94% even though it shows 100%. What I've found is that my phone drains at a similar rate to 100% battery life, even though it reached 100 at 88% for example. This shows that the OS is a little askew about battery health in particular, and that battery life is constant with the actual physical life of your battery, regardless of what displays as battery health.
