    Hi Everyone,

I'm getting lots of emails with .rtf attachments - how can I read them on my Z10?
    Thanks

Maybe you'll have to find an app for it because you also couldn't open rtf files on the Playbook. Luckily I never had many.

Kinda disappointing for me as well cause I get a ton of email attachments for work with the .rtf extension. Funny though, my old Torch 9800 reads them just fine!

Try a web app like Google apps. Kind of a sucky experience, but might work in a pinch

There's an app called AZR Text Editor, i think it will do the job.

According to Re: Opening rtf files on a playbook - BlackBerry Support Community Forums
they say BlackBerry World - File Converter - BlackBerry PlayBook can convert it to a DOC or PDF, which you then can open with Documents To Go.

I'm not sure if that is an option for you, but it is all I could find.

Text reader from amazon app store works great as a rtf reader.
    FF22 and metal1369 like this.

Do you have to open the app and search for the rtf file or can it automatically open such a file?

Automatically opens the file. I often get rtf files as an attachment on my work emails. I just touch the attachment and the program launches and opens it.

i used text reader, find the docs viewer works and looks better, they both just open the rtf file directly from the email

sign easy looks like you need to set up an account first

No great options. Docs Viewer works the best, but it has to upload the file.

AZR does work, but produces an imperfect formatting (odd slashed here and there). Kingsoft/WPS office (android sideload) is an exceptionally sweet app, but also won't open RTF. It would be great if BlackBerry or crackberry would just comment n why such a simple common file format is so problematic...the silence on such topics is frustrating. Add to list: No "Find on Page" in Remember; no "click to call" in contact notes unless in "edit" mode; no search of Contact notes and other fields: no in-app search for Remember. The OS is really solid, and each update resolves a bunch of issues, but radio silence concerning glaring and inexplicable omissions is really frustrating.

I found text reader for Z10 works well enough for me, I just need to read the details.

However, it was a real pain on the PlayBook. Having to convert the file using online services and save the file back as PDF. Not tried text reader on PlayBook.

I agree, it was very frustrating finding none of my BlackBerry devices opened one of the oldest and most commonly used text formats.

Anyone got a link to this "text reader" since I thought I downloaded it today but it does not open the rtf file I tossed on my z10 just afterward. Nor can I navigate to a folder where the file resides to manually open it. Maybe I grabbed the wrong app.

Ah, I remember having issues trying to open files stored on the phone (Something to do with permissions) however it opens the file directly from an email which is how I need it to work. I had forgotten about that.

It is by Penza software. Definitely works directly from email for me, I just tap on the attachment. Here is a link to the App description.

I can't see a version number on the app.
