I'm enjoying the VLC Remote app. I had some difficulty getting the web interface to work, but found the VLC remote setup program by Hobbyist software works like a charm http://hobbyistsoftware.com/vlc

Hopefully they will bring additional functionality (queuing files, volume control, etc) in updates to come.

How does that version compared with the other VLC remote app that is available for BB10?

They seem to have similar ratings and features, so I'm curious as to what people have thought of either of these apps in terms of easy of use and, importantly, connecting to ones computer.

Have not tried this one yet but the .99 cent one didn't work at all. I did everything it asked for in the setup and it just sits there doing nothing. I don't know how this stuff makes it past scuteneering, if there is such a thing in BB World.

you may have to fiddle with your firewall or windows defender to allow traffic on port 8000.

As for which app- the 'vlc remote control' is much better than 'vlc remote'.
its cheaper and it has more functionality- you can control volume and move between items in your playlist and toggle fullscreen.
