Hi all,,,, I just got my Z10 so far its a cool phone. I have a question. Is there anyway to put the Vivint alarm app on this phone? Vivint says they don't have an app for the new Blackberry, and no idea when they will be. I really would like to be able to control my alarm on my phone without having to use the browser and going to their website all the time to turn it on and off. They have the app for iphone, android and the old blackberry but not the new Z10

You could maybe try to sideload the Android app. That might work.

Thanks for the info. You lost me on the sideloading thing. Sounds complicated and am sure if I tried it, it would screw something else up. I will just wait and hope they release the app soon.

I have tried the side loaded app. It will not recognize my login information so therefore will not work. I sent an email to tech support from Vivint. They seemed unaware that there was a new BlackBerry platform and directed me back to the website to download the legacy OS application. I have replied to their email and will update this tread when I get an answer.

I emailed Alarm.com the maker of the app and this was their reply::

Thanks for contacting Alarm.com.

Unfortunately, we do not have a app that is in development at this time for the new BlackBerry 10. We are looking into developing an app soon. However, we do not have an ETA on when or if it will become available.
We apologize for any inconvenience.

Has anyone heard anything more from Vivint? I bought the new Q10 last week and I'm having the same issues. The customer service rep I spoke to at Vivint gave me the same instructions that I found when I did a google search (go to alarm.com/bbinstall) and this doesn't work. Just wondering if I'm missing something!

Here's the link for the vivint app that will work on BB10. You need to convert the APK file to BAR.

You can in the meantime use the http://alarm.com/pda site. It's not as pretty, but it does work.

I was able to extract an APK from the 1mobile app on my Z30 and convert it to a bar

Take a look at sanduga and what he posted. I have a z10 and it worked like a champ plus other apps that weren't available are now on my phone. Good stuff and the vivint works great.
