Could also be due to hitting the side keys in error. I'm doing this all the time.

I want to have the device on vibrate mostly but keep changing it to either silent or normal.

Reset the phone will work for the moment. I'm not sure... but I think it mostly happens after I use bluetooth, but it could just be a coincidence.

Same. I'd like it to be in vibrate mode 24/7 but hitting the volume key once changes it to silent mode.

Just looked further at the notification settings and have just been through and set the apps to vibrate when on the silent profile. In effect the silent and vibrate profiles are now the same.

Seems a bit redundant but until such a time as the side buttons can be customised to not adjust profiles then it'll do.

Have you confirmed that working because globally on the silent notification the vibrate has been greyed out and "off"

Does anyone else have the slip case from BlackBerry? I found I was having this issue because of the firmness of a new case. You really have to press hard to get your device to slide in. When you place the device in the slip case you normally have to grip it from the sides which in turn press the volume up or down key. When you press and hold the volume down hey then it quickly drops the volume till it hits vibrate then silent. Since I have bought a transformer case I have not had this issue any more. Just curious if anyone else can confirm they are using a slip case and this is happening.
