I was unable to find it as well. I used third party file managing apps and was unable to find the option

hey guys. here is your answer.
please don't get offended by how the answer was delivered. it was a light hearted joke that I personally enjoyed. you can read it if you want, otherwise here is the short answer... no you can't with the native os. requires a third party app. good news is apps do exist that can hide pics.

You can simply rename the file and add a period before it. Ie: .myphoto.png

This hides the photo, so you won't see it in the file manager either, but it exists. You can retrieve it by tethering to a computer or sharing files with another DLNA device over the air.

Another option is to compress the folder containing the pictures that you want to hide using the native Zip function in File Manager.

I found this out by doing an Internet search. I stumbled on the following YouTube video explaining this.

You can install iLock app (from the app World) and then, from within the app, open the images you want to hide. They will disappear from the gallery, and you will see them only in iLock, after typing your own password

I use the app "media hide", a free app in the app store. Not the prettiest UI but does the job.

Put any media you would like hidden in a folder. Then create a file in that folder named ".nomedia". You will need to create this on a computer. BlackBerry 10 will not index any of these files but you can access them in file manager.
