Any word on any aviation apps? Jepessen? Weather Apps? NOTAMS? World wide support for weather (not just North America)? I know there were some basic level apps on BB7, but it was always embarrassing when my co-workers pulled out their Androids/iPhones and were bringing things up with a couple clicks in an app while I fussed around with using the browser on my 9810.

Agreed, foreflight would be excellent. Even just a robust weather app that had METARs, TAFs, radar/sat imagery, and please, something that works worldwide (Europe/Africa).

If anyone has the Z10, try out SkyVector: Flight Planning / Aeronautical Charts and let us know how it works in the browser (usable or not). Thanks.

Hoping that flightradar 24 pro makes its way over to BB10, one of my fave apps on my S3 at the moment.

Anyone know if it will be coming over or not??.

I might email the developer and see if he will bring it over as its on Android and iOS.

Right well i emailed the dev of flightradar24 pro and he replied back saying that he has no plans to bring it over to Blackberry, which sucks really as i really like the app.

I wonder if i could sideload it onto the Z10, when i get around to buying one.

I wrote ForeFlight asking for a port, even bringing up that iOs and BB10 (and Android for that matter) are all at their basic level Unix-like-based OS's. iOs is based on BSD (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darwin_(operating_system)) and BB10 is QNX based (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QNX), and both are POSIX compliant (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/POSIX), and as such, porting shouldn't be too difficult or time consuming.

The response was a straight forward "Thanks for your interest" and "we'll look into it in the future". Pretty much as expected, which is too bad.

Just downloaded Magellan Compass. Includes US Sectionals so it covers southern Canada-ish. I got an email back from the company saying you can't add your own maps. However they have said if we can find a 'free source' for maps they're willing to work on it - hah, Navcanada and free doesn't work! But I've put in the app settings to have a 1GB tile cache and it seems to work relatively well, scrolling is a bit choppy but what do you expect with raster maps and tiles to render.

And the best part.. $4.99 with no subscription!

Haven't heard back from AeroWeather nor FltPlan about a BB10 app. I use AeroWeather Pro on my iPhone 4S but I'd like to stop carrying two phones!

    Got the same canned response.

AeroWeather: 'no plans to have BB10 version' (April 2013)

Is there an equivalent for GoodReader?

What I'm using on my Z10 right now:
    Moving map: Magellan Compass
    Level 3 weather radar: BeRadar
Clock: stock clock in "world clock" mode, Z on Bissau, Guinea. (is there a better way for Z?)
