Im excited and yet nervous at the same time thinking if I will like the transition. I've been using my Torch 9800 and iPod Touch 4G for a while now. I love typing on my torch, but I cant type as fast with my iPod... Do u guys worried at all about the transition?

I have mostly used lqndscape sliders in the past (like Nokia E7 or HTC Desire Z), so I had basicly the best of both worlds. A full sized touchscreen and a full sized physical keyboard. Also my work supplied phone is an all-touch modell.

First it highly depends on the actual keyboard software used. The Symbian one for example is rather poor, since it does not support multi-touch. Meaning you have to type rather slow, if you go too fast, the software misses some input. The virtual keyboard on the Desire Z was quite good, even though it had the smallest screen of all devices. My Playbook also performs very well I have to admit, though I am pretty sure quite some usability here comes from the large 7" screen.

As for today, I can type faster on most virtual keyboards than on physical ones. However the typing experience to me is much worse on a virtual keyboard. I find myself being either more creative ir more detailed when typing on a decent physical QWERTY. There is just a huge difference in terms of either touching that flat "soulless" glass plate or an actual, physical button you can feel, actually press and hear.

In terms of precission I prefer the physical QWERTY too, I just notice immediatly when I hit the wrong key. Here on the Playbook right now I always have to doublecheck the text and there are much more errors due to wrong buttons hit.

Ultimately the "transition" is much easier than many people think. It always takes some time anyways kearning a new keyboard, no matter whether it is a virtual one or physical. The virtual keyboard on BB10 looks very nice, literally. It nicely resambles a real BB keyboard in terms of the graphicd, design and function looks very good too. This actually is one of the first virtual keyboards I'd really like to try out for myself, and that is a die-hard QWERTY guy talking.

PS: this text has been writen on my Playbook and I am pretty sure you'll find an error or two here. Texts written on my Bold, even though the keyboard is much smaller, are usually without those accidential errors.

Smartphone yes. Though I do have an iPod touch.

    Here's a history of the phones I used. 8100 > 9000 > 8900 > 9800 > 9900.

Yes it will be. I have an iPod Touch. Use the touchscreen on the Bold 9900 a lot and get frustrated when using having to look at my kid's 9360 devices and trying to navigate by touching the screen and can't.

This isn't my first rodeo with s full touch device. So let me say you csn get use to it. However, as someone else pointed out, spelling mistakes are more common.

Note: this is typed on an epic 4G touch. How many errors csn you point out?

It will be the first all touch smartphone I've purchased. I used my roommate's old storm 1 for a short period of time between when I broke my 9700 and I bought my 9900.

I actually had an iPod touch before getting my 8330m. The iPod showed me how much I liked to tweak mobile devices and whatnot.

I wanted to have an iPhone, until I had the 8330m for about a month.

But the real turning point was after a friend told me try to give CrackBerry a chance.

    No turning back now.

I think so because from the supposed X10 photos, i have to get the Z10 instead, the X10 looks horrible,
If Aristo is close by, i"ll just wait for that

If the rumored X-10 pics hold true then yes, the Z10 will be my first all-touchscreen phone. If a better looking keyboard or slider comes out then probably not. A waiting game for me.

It will be the first all touch for me personally. But there are two other all touch phones in the family. My wife has an iPhone 4 and had an iPhone 3G since '09. And my son has a Galaxy S2 that I played with for a while when I considered getting one for myself after the first BB 10 delay. I got over that and decided to wait it out. In the meantime, I've been using the 9800 virtual keyboard exclusively - even the full keyboard instead of SureType that I had been using.

Yep, it'll be my first full-touch smartphone. My first smartphone was a 9780, followed by my 9810, so I've become used to physical keyboards. But the Z10's virtual keyboard looks leaps and bounds ahead of anything else sold today, so I'm willing to give it a chance.

This will be first for me also. I'm not worried, infact i'm excited to try it out and see what i can do with it.
I've always been comfortable with the keyboard, heck i got my start with a 7520, then 8520i, 9300, 9780 and lastly the 9900.

In fact i've played with the idea of keeping with the keyboard, mainly because the x10 in a way isn't so far off from my 9900. My 9900 has a trackpad that has stopped working forcing me to use the touchscreen for everything (outside of shortcuts).
    Regardless i welcome change,
    Time to get things done.
