Ok so a good friend of mine has T-Mobile (I think I just puked in my mouth) and his pearl has been giving him tons of issues lately so I told him he should go to a corp. T-Mobile store and have a tech look at it, and that after they troubleshooted the device if it wasn't able to be fixed i'm sure they would swap it out... so he went to the local corp. store and after spending an hour in the store the tech simply did a master reset and sent him on his way.... Needless to say the following morning the BB continued to have the same issues so he once again comes to me frustrated with his BB so I tell him call CS and talk to them... so he does....waits on hold until the CSR answers...he speaks to the first CSR and after 20 mins she transfers him to a smart phone CSR...after speaking to her and trouble shooting for 45 mins he gets transferred once again to an Advanced smart phone CSR... after trouble shooting with her for another 45 mins the CSR says "ya your phone is def messed up... hold on one second while we transfer you to RIM" he then asks well if you know its messed up can't you just swap it out for another pearl?? and the CSR says "no you need to talk to rim first...its company policy T-Mobile will not authorize a swap until you talk to RIM" he say ok and she transfers him to RIM... so he speaks to a guy at rim for about 20 mins... then the CSR at RIM says ok im going to fill out a troubleshooting ticket and transfer you back to smart phone support at T-Mobile So he gets transferred back to T-Mobile and the smart phone specialist wanted to trouble shoot his phone again.... at this point my friend was furious and very frustrated so with every ounce of patience left in his body he calmly explains to her that he has been transferred numerous times, has been on the phone for close to 3 hours, and at this point all he wants is a working phone and if they cant provide that he is just going to cancel his service...the CSR pretty much just says "do what you want" so he asks for a supervisor gets placed on hold so he waited on hold for another 10 mins finally gets a supervisor and after explaining to the supervisor the issues the supervisor agreed to swap his phone out...so he waits patiently for another 10 mins or so for the supervisor to fill out the paperwork... then the supervisor tells him that they use FedEx/UPS ground service so he will get his phone in 7-10 business days, unless he wants to pay 19.99 for 3 day FedEx/UPS service needless to say his phone is being swapped out... but after witnessing this go down first hand i will be the first to say that VZW is by Far the best Mobile Phone provider in the USA hands down... as much as people whine about how VZW is expensive i will be glad to say i will pay the cost of their service with a smile from ear to ear because every time i have an issue with my equipment or service VZW bends backwards to correct it and make me happy and i don't think that in my 9 years of being a VZW customer Ive ever spent more then 30 mins on the phone before they have either solved my problem and/or swapped out the device oh and ya with vzw Ive never had to pay for expedited shipping ive always got next day service FREE... so i said it before and ill say it again YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! oh ya and my friend swore today that once VZW releases the storm he will be coming on over to the best 3g network in the USA... thats right VZW!

I will admit T-Mob sucks! Like I say, you better have a phone with speaker phone when calling T-mob's CS. You and on, talking, and fixed with NZW CS before you even get to a person on T-mob. Not to mention very lacking coverage. I had to keep my T-Mob phone on my window sill in my apt. because I couldn't sit at my computer (6' away) and get calls.

I was talking with a co-worker today because he stopped me about my BB. Told him we get 20% off VZW service and that it is the BEST service in the US and my area. I might have converted one for our side. He def liked the BB and he is 53.

Sorry RealEstatePro... didn't read your whole novel about VZW > TMobile lmao

I have never had any issues with TMobile. I am an extremely satisfied and happy customer. I get a great value and I have phenomenal service and coverage.

Just MHO, but I have to agree that Verizon is best service and coverage (in my area).

They definitely bend over backwards to make sure you are happy and have no problems. I had several other carriers many years ago, and they didn't even compare.

Several of my friends and co-workers have T-Mobile and rave about how cheap their plans are and all they get included, BUT constantly drop calls or don't even get calls! So lets see, pay less....and just pray your service works

I got upset with tmobile after they wanted 9.99 bucks to ship a phone to warranty. Did so then they sent me another junk phone and wanted 9.99 to send that one back too.
I just cancelled my service with them last week because of that. Just because they wouldn't waive my 9.99 shipping fee.

T-Mob might be good in large cities or areas, but as a whole its terrible. If you drove across the US you would not have coverage with T-Mob for probably a good portion of your trip. With VZW I'm guessing you would have coverage over 90% of the time.

T-mob was decent if you were like in town, but in my area if you are in between towns you get nothing.

I have been with Verizon (and its predecessors) for over 17 years now. For the last 7 using some type of smartphone - Palm, Treo, windoze mobile and now BB. Two reasons I stay with them and yes - I pay for VZW Nav on my 8830 - is the coverage - I travel the midwest on business -Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, Toronto, Cinci, and have found only two spots where my coverage goes dead, for about a mile or so, then it picks back up. Second is service. If anything ever goes wrong, they are happy to fix it. Once, I took my family on a two week vacation to DisneyWorld (we live in a suburb of Detroit), and my pda phone died. I needed it to be in touch with the office as we had several projects going on, and needed to coordinate logistics. I called in the evening, and they still had a phone overnighted to me at the hotel. Lest anyone think their phones are no good, I've only had two phones die on me in the over 17 years - and likewise I was out of town - in Chicago for a trade show, and my Palm Treo died. It had all of my appointments for the week and contact names & numbers. Not only would I miss my appts, I wouldn't be able to call and let them know or rearrange. Well, VZW overnighted a replacement phone to my office, who synched it up with my desktop, then they overnighted it to me.

So, yes I pay a few bucks more a month, but what I save in worry and lost profits more than makes up for it.

And the only other thing I can say is, I still haven't figured out why I didn't come to the BB sooner. It is by far the best PDA phone I have had.

    Best,

    Jeff

I've never had issues with a business client that uses T-Mobile for all their Blackberries. If there's a problem, I call and the first thing out of my mouth is "I need to talk to a Blackberry Specialist". Then, depending on if I already know if the issue is software or hardware I handle the problem appropriately. If it's hardware, I explain the problem and tell them that an OS reload has already been done, a wipe has been done, etc. basically everything they need to know so that they realize it's a hardware issue. If the phone is still within the first year of warranty, I ask for a replacement under warranty. All has run smoothly so far with every single one of my calls. It depends on who you get and how you work with them. I've run into ******* on both T-Mobile and Verizon as well. Just recently, I ran into one on Verizon who wouldn't replace a phone under warranty because he didn't think it was an option and wanted to get insurance to replace it. A simple hang up and call back fixed that by getting another CSR who knows what the heck is going on. The key to the support call is to know what "you" are doing. If you're a lost puppy, well... then you might not have the ability to drive the conversation in the direction that it needs to go and you're at the mercy of the "questionable mentality" on the other end.

I too have been with Verizon since it was Ameritech in fact my first phone was the big brick and thought I was cool then came the little brick....LOL I look back now and laugh at myself. But anyway enough of the walk down memory lane.

I love VZW service, my phone works in elevators! ....I have a couple of friends that have TMO curves and they have nothing but problems and almost every conversation is dropped.

    I am a VZW lifer.

I switched over to Verizon after being with Boost Mobile. The CS (SUCKED) the phone where sh*t, and not to mention that I was paying a house not for crappy service. I now pay $100.00 a month for 2 phone free text, flex, picture, I 1400 minutes on my phone and the with has 1400 herself. When I say I love Verizon I mean it. The CSR are great and when ever I had a problem they took great steps to fix it.

I absolutely LOVE VZW. They have always been helpful and soooo nice. I just got my dh an upgraded phone today and they gave him the discount and an instant rebate instead of the mail in. They are by far better than any other co- I've been with AT&T, voicestream, T-Mobile and a couple more. Couldn't be happier with VZW. Worth every single penny!

I've been with VZW for nearly a decade now, I think. They've probably given me the least amount of grief of any other company to whom I send checks every month, and as much as or better quality customer service. Having spent my own time behind the service counter (albeit not the mobile industry's), they generally go above and beyond to make sure we're well taken care of.

(Although I wish the "Can you hear me now?" guy would try a call from my parents' house with roaming disabled, but nobody's 100% perfect and I don't live there, so no aggravation from me. )

Sorry to hear about the coverage at your parents house. As you know wireless is a line of site technology and there will dead zones within coverage areas. Also other factors that can make this happen are:

Buildings, Topigraphical issues, environmental issues, weather, etc.

I use to live in LA as you all know this a pretty saturated area. In my house office I could not make a call if I had to. I took 3 steps outside and no problem. I know it was my house that caused the signal not to do well.

My family (wife, 3 daughters, 2 son in laws, and one of the grandsons) all carry VZW phones or BB's and not one phone land line. From Va. To Upstate NY and even to the cottage in Canada we get good coverage. Just wish VZW would turn on GPS for my BB.
