Hi Crackberry,

I need thoughts on the following. I currently have a 9800 and really like the 9900, but I know BB10 is around the corner. My employers plan is offering the following
For $45/month, unlimited data (no Tethering) (I bridge, so no issues)
Unlimited eve and weekends
Unlimited texting
Call display yadda yadda etc..
PLUS a free 9900.

I use the device for heavy text, BBM, checking the web, taking a few pics and streaming radio (tune in). Do you think I should scoop this up, cause I have a feeling this plan wont be offered once BB10 is in the picture.

Thoughts?? It's not so much a "Should I switch" thread as much as it is a "Should I act now or wait" Thread.

Chances are the plan may not be offered when BB10 launches. Ask your IT/PR rep, whoever is in charge of this, how long the plan is going to be offered.

Second, if it is still offered then, the BB10 devices probably won't be offered for $0, more likely $199.99-$249.99

So the real question is, do you wanna get a free 9900 and sell it for approx. $150-$200 when the BB10's launch and then put that money towards purchasing one outright, or do you wanna wait until the BB10's launch and spend $200-$250 on one.

See we're on the same page. Im a big fan of the plan itself. I was thinking of grabbing this plan, then grabbing a BB10 phone say a year down the road. Especially after all the models have been released. That way, i'd have the attractive plan as well as a BB10 with unlimited data. They offer a 6gb plan with tethering for $5 more a month. Im leaning towards taking the plunge.

Can't go wrong with the 9900, Smaller screen then what your used to but an upgrade non the less.

Take the plan now. Five months at the least ( when BB10 surfaces ) is not around the corner. ( That's almost half a year!! ) Do what's best for you now because tomorrow isn't promised.

plus...no matter how long they bake 10...there' going to be issues/bugs once it roles out. Your plan allows for a wring-out period

deffo go for it youll have a nice cheap plan AND extra spending money for your bb10 device if you sell the free bold. youll also be able to try a new device out for a few months so its a winner all round unless you love your current bb (in which case take the plan and sell the 9900)

I changed 9800 > 9810 > 9900.
But if you will be "locked" 2 years, you should wait for BB10.
9800 still a good phone for a few months more.
