    I am looking for that, I have tried a few voice recorder applications (VR+, mVoice, QuickVoice) but they all stop recording when my phone locks.

    My phone locks after a few seconds of inactivity and that is something I don't wish to change.

    I will really appreciate if someone could point me to an application that does allow recording while phone is locked.

    Sure, I throw my BB away and got a Samsung Note II, that did it.

    Well, to be honest, the reason for which I left BB is because they don't do tethering and that's something I really needed. Not being able to voice record while locked was more a annoying thing.

    Yes, blackberries don't do tethering. You are the most informed person ever

    The Remember App that comes with the BlackBerry 10 phones has an excellent voice recording feature, and it doesn't close when the phone locks. Actually, the app as a whole is the best note-taking app I've ever used. It also let's you create folders that sync with your Evernote account, you should really check it out.

    Haha yeah.. you can find lots of things hiding the keyboard.

    Thankfully, the 10.2 update addresses said issue. You know have the voice note option right from the start.

    BlackBerry's most certainly do tether. If it's a Legacy device, use BlackBerry desktop. Bottom right corner has the mobile connection icon.
    If it's BB10, just plug it in via USB and turn on Internet Tethering.

    Even before BlackBerry Desktop had this ability you could just install a generic modem in windows control panel, plug in the BlackBerry and away you go.

    Now we have "Stringnote" for everysimple task in our life.. It can take a picture , record a voice, record a video at a very simple double clicks of your power button.
