You don't need one on a phone with a glass screen.

I tried one and took it off minutes later. It spoils the looks. I've always been careful with my bb as well.

Maybe YOU don't, but trust me, the screen will scratch as bad as you can imagine. Don't believe me? Take a key and run it along your screen with a good amount of pressure and watch what happens to your screen. That can happen in your pocket as well if you don't use a case/ protector.

@the OP. I use a mat screen protector which eliminates glare from light/ sun and protects the screen from scratching.

There are those here who would beg to differ - because we have glass screens. They will learn the hard way. My MacbooK Pro Retina just cost me an $800 repair bill, because the glass screen scratched badly from an object that came in contact with it. But hey, it's glass and I shouldn't need a screen protector.

    it's a must.

I've tried security film, anti-smudge film and my latest is the HD film.
and so far all the films function as i t should. but since i'm using HD film now, i like the way it look. especially when i was browsing n watching some good videos on youtube.

and I've some scratched torch. not a good look at all.. rather spend rm12 on a film than on a rm200 display screen.

I generally do use a crystal clear protector, but have gone without for a few months as I'm too lazy to order more. No scratches, though I am very careful by not keeping anything else in my right pocket.

What do you all think of the mediadevil crystal clear screen protector. Is it good quality. Can I keep it for like a year without changing it?

+1 for the screen protector. Spend a bit more for a good one....it'll protect the screen and you won't even know it's there.

I use cheap screen protectors from ebay that cost like 2 bucks. They work great. I do fine with them and don't have to change them. I have never used any of my BB's without screen protectors. I don't like ugly, scratched devices.

Put a screen protector ASAP! I put a privacy screen a few days after I got my 9900. I love it noone can read (barely see) at all. Only downfall is, my g/f has a white 9900 and she has a very thin screen protector, I always forget how beautiful the screen actually looks. It makes the screen slightly dimmer. touch response isn't effected though.

IMO...a screen protector just takes away from a touch screen. I have use one on all of my other BlackBerry devices, but I just can't seem to bring myself to putting one on this EXCELLENT crafted device known as the BOLD 9930
