...close your applications on your phone or do you just leave them open? I mean your native applications like pictures and camera and such.

I always close/exit unused apps. My original 2 year old Torch battery still lasts a full 16hr day.

I close them all. It makes switching applications more manageable, the device speedier, and saves battery life.

On my iPhone or iPad I leave everything open and let the OS handle multitasking and memory management.

On the BB I generally just use phone or messages so they stay open as well. PlayBook I close things when I'm done with them.

I close all the apps I can, messages, bbm, phone, home screen, and browser all stay open in some form as you can't really close them.

I like to preserve battery and memory as much as possible considering I have BB6 on an old 9700.

Close, one of the things we have to manage ourselves having true multitasking and not sent to the background paused or dormant. I don't mind to have true multitasking when needed.

I close everything unless I'm multi-tasking. ARM closes what is deemed necessary if I forget to close out.

I rarely close any apps on my android devices. I use to have close everything back on my torch and bold though.

i always close apps and even put phone services off when im listening to music to save battery... tbh. i dont know how much of a difference this makes... maybe my battery drains fast cos i charge my 9900 with the playbook charger... i get 3/4's of a day of normal messaging.... thats not heavy heavy use, which to me is not great, but i dont know if its normal or not.... my batt must be gone... lool.. off topic!!

Besides the stuff you can't close, I leave Docs-to-go files, Dropbox, and PodTrapper open.

Good question. With my current blackberry device, like others above, I close them all to converse the battery and keep the memory data free as much as possible when using an app or two. Sercretly, I want to be able to keep them open and jump to different apps - I like to multitask. My BB device would crash or shut down if I leave more than 4 apps open for a long period. A-little annoying for me.

I close applications when I am done with them. I hope this will prolong battery life, between charging, as well as speed things up.
